One person was injured in a Fullerton car accident, which officials say involved a total of four vehicles. According to The Orange County Register, the injury crash occurred on the southbound 57 Freeway near Yorba Linda Boulevard, the morning of June 4, 2012. California Highway Patrol officials stated the driver of a Chevrolet van was traveling too fast as traffic was slowing down and ended up striking the rear of a Toyota Corolla. The Corolla in turn was pushed into a Volkswagen Beetle, which then hit a Hyundai sedan. The driver of the Corolla was taken to an area trauma center for treatment.
My thoughts and prayers are with the injured victim of this car accident. Please keep this victim in your thoughts and prayers.
Car Accident Statistics

Excessive Speed a Factor
Based on this news report, it appears that the driver of the Chevy van was traveling at an unsafe rate of speed and ended up striking the Corolla from behind triggering a chain-reaction collision. California Vehicle Code Section 22350 (Basic Speed Law) states: “No person shall drive a vehicle upon a highway at a speed greater than is reasonable or prudent having due regard for weather, visibility, the traffic and on surface and width of, the highway, and in no event at a speed which endangers the safety of persons or property.”
Fault and Liability
If the driver of the van is determined to have been at fault, then, he or she can be held liable for the injuries and damages here. Injured victims in such cases can seek compensation to cover medical expenses, lost wages and benefits, cost of hospitalization, rehabilitation and other related damages. Victims would be well advised to contact an experienced Orange County personal injury lawyer, who will analyze all aspects of the incident and ensure that the negligent parties are held liable.
In any multi-vehicle collision, where a number of parties and insurance companies are involved, it is important that injured victims refrain from entering into quick agreements or signing any paperwork without discussing their case with an experienced injury lawyer.
