Lisbet Linares de Villela, a 42-year-old woman was killed and five people were injured in a Canoga Park car crash at 7919 De Soto Ave, according to a recent CBS report.
Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department said the accident happened near Strathern Street and involved Villela’s car, an SUV and a minivan. Villela apparently collided head-on with one of the other two vehicles. The crash left an 11-year-old girl in the car with non-life-threatening injuries. A 65-year-old driver of one of the other vehicles was taken to the West Hills Hospital & Medical Center and three other people from the third vehicle suffered minor injuries.
My condolences are with the injured and especially to the family of Linares de Villela.
In many multiple car accidents, it is not uncommon for the official traffic collision report to not give an opinion as to fault for the traffic accident. This could be one of those cases. Many times the police agency that investigates an auto accident does not have the time, resources or training to dig deep to gather the information, do the testing or know the physics to accurately reconstruct an accident for a determination of what happened and who is at fault.
The injured and the family of the deceased accident victim would be well served by getting a comprehensive consultation with an expert auto accident attorney to get a clear picture of their rights, options and exposure. The best law firms will provide a thorough consultation without any type of fee or obligation.
Any party who believes they may have some responsibility for this accident should contact their auto insurance carrier at their earliest opportunity.
