Two Injured in Sylmar Three-Car Accident
A man leaving a Sylmar pot dispensary in his car t-boned a passing vehicle, pushing that sedan into oncoming traffic and sending the husband and wife inside to a hospital with critical injuries. According to a news report in the Los Angeles Daily News, the crash occurred in the 12700 block of West Foothill Boulevard and left the couple with life-threatening injuries. It took firefighters 45 minutes to free the couple from the vehicle. They had to remove the entire top of the vehicle to extricate the injured man and woman. Nine Children Injured in Dana Point Daycare Van Crash
Nine children were injured, five seriously, in a Dana Point van accident after a passenger van carrying children from a childcare center, crashed into a tree the afternoon of Oct. 3. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the incident occurred near Dana Point Harbor Drive and Cove Road. Five of the patients, ages 9 to 12, were transported to an area trauma center with non-life-threatening injuries. Four other children received treatment for relatively minor injuries. Toddler Killed After Being Hit by Commercial Vehicle in Riverside County
Nazarey Flores Arizmendi, a 2-year-old boy, was killed after he was struck by a commercial truck in Moreno Valley the morning of Sept. 12. According to a KTLA news report, firefighters responded to the 24000 block of Fir Avenue after getting a report of a child hit by a commercial vehicle. They arrived at the scene and found the young boy dead. The Coroner’s report said the boy dead about eight minutes after being struck. No other details were immediately provided about the incident. Huntington Beach Rollover Accident Proves Fatal for Elderly Passenger
An 86-year-old man was killed in a Huntington Beach car accident after a vehicle crashed into the back of a pickup truck causing the truck to roll over. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, police officers responded to the incident the afternoon of Aug. 31 at the intersection of Warner Avenue and Nichols Lane. Road Rage Leads to Series of Crashes Injuring Four People in Santa Ana
A man was arrested after a series of car accidents in Santa Ana, which ended with four people injured the morning of July 11. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the incident began at the intersection of First and Fairview streets when a Nissan Cube and a Honda sedan both ran a red light possibly triggered by road rage. At least five people were injured in a car accident early morning on July 13 after being struck by a vehicle in Bellflower. According to KTLA news report, the crash occurred near the intersection of Woodruff Avenue and Foster Road at about 2 a.m. Five people were sent to the hospital of which three are said to be in critical condition. Two others sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Man and 3-year-old Son Killed in 405 Freeway Crash in Seal Beach
A 39-year-old man identified by the Orange County Coroner as Tarun Katara of Irvine and his 3-year-old son were killed in a Seal Beach crash after they exited their disabled SUV on the 405 Freeway and were struck by another vehicle early morning on June 15. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the incident occurred on the freeway just north of Seal Beach Boulevard. Three Las Vegas residents were killed and a fourth person was critically injured in a Huntington Beach car accident when the vehicle in which they were traveling was rear-ended by a suspected drunk driver. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the accident occurred on Pacific Coast Highway. Police found a red Toyota engulfed in flames. Aliso Viejo’s Police Chief Seriously Injured in Car Accident
Three people, including Aliso Viejo’s police chief, were injured in a car accident in the area the morning of Feb. 28. According to a news report on Patch.com, the city’s chief of police services, Lt. John MacPherson, suffered serious injuries just before he was about to retire from his job. The incident occurred at the intersection of Alicia Parkway and Pacific Park Drive and involved five vehicles. It was triggered by a driver who ran the red light, officials said. The severity of the other injuries was not known. California Highway Patrol officials are investigating the incident. It is not known if the driver who caused the accident has been cited or arrested.
