Irvine Car Accident Proves Fatal
A car accident in Irvine fatally injured two women – identified as Jamie R. Lopez, 26, of Santa Ana, and Nancy A. Ortiz, 26, of Garden Grove — and a man critically injured. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the crash occurred on northbound Jamboree Road between Main Street and Kelvin Avenue the evening of July 22, 2017. A Chevy Corvette went out of control and sheared a fire hydrant.
Police say two women in a Chevy Corvette were pronounced dead at the scene while a male occupant was taken to the hospital in critical condition. The cause of the accident is under investigation. Family of Six Injured in Huntington Beach Road Rage Incident
A family of six riding in a minivan was injured in a car accident, which officials say, was caused by a driver who was fleeing a road rage incident. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the first crash occurred when a man drove an SUV into another car the afternoon of July 10, 2017 at the intersection of Bolsa Chica Road and Warner Avenue. After that collision, the man drove the SUV east on Warner, lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a minivan that was leaving a parking lot near Warner and Springdale Street.
The SUV’s driver had to be extricated from his vehicle and was hospitalized for injuries. All six people in the minivan were transported to area hospitals for treatment of injuries. At least two of the seven who were injured were sent to local trauma centers, which suggests they may have suffered more serious or critical injuries. No arrests or citations were reported. Two men died and three others suffered serious injuries in an Irvine car accident on July 1 near UC Irvine. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the fatal crash occurred at the intersection of Harvard Avenue and Michelson Drive. Irvine police and Orange County Fire Authority officials who responded to the collision found a 2015 Infiniti Q50 on fire and put out the blaze. Temecula Broadside Crash Leaves One Dead Two Injured
A car accident in Temecula left one person dead and two others injured the evening of February 23, 2017. According to a news report in The Press-Enterprise, the fatal crash occurred at the intersection of Leena and Montelegro ways. Police said they arrived on scene to find two vehicles – a BMW and a Mercedes – involved in a broadside crash. Child Killed in Fullerton Car Accident
A 7-year-old girl was killed and her mother suffered critical injuries in a Fullerton car accident, which officials say, involved three vehicles. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the incident occurred the afternoon of February 13, 2017 at the intersection of Kimberly and Acacia avenues. Police said a 2001 Hyundai Elantra was traveling west on Kimberly Avenue through the Acacia intersection when it was broadsided on the passenger side by a 2004 Nissan Altima.
Ongoing Investigation
The impact of the collision caused the Nissan and the Hyundai to spin and strike a 2013 Toyota Tundra, which was at a stop sign at the intersection. The girl and her mother were in the back seat of the Hyundai. The girl was in a car seat. The child was pronounced dead at the hospital while her mother underwent surgery and was listed in critical condition. The driver of the Hyundai and another passenger were treated for non-life-threatening injuries. No one else was injured. No arrests or citations were reported. The fatal accident is still under investigation.
Two Killed in Westminster Car Accident
Khoa Truong, 59, and Kimmy Hua, 79, were killed in a Westminster car accident involving two vehicles. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the fatal crash occurred the morning of January 2, 2017 at Beach Boulevard and Madison Avenue. Police say a convertible that was northbound on Beach collided with a Toyota Avalon that was turning left onto Madison. The sedan rammed into the front entrance of a flower shop on Beach Boulevard.
Hua was a passenger in the Toyota and died at the scene. Truong, who was driving the vehicle, was transported to an area hospital where he later died. A woman in her 50s, who was driving the convertible, sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The shop was open at the time, but thankfully, no one was injured. Police said speed, alcohol or drugs don’t seem to have been factors in this collision. The investigation is still ongoing.

Woman Killed in Deadly Whittier Street Racing Crash
A mother driving with her son died in a Whittier car accident, which officials say, was caused by two suspected street racers who lost control and crashed. According to a news report in the San Gabriel Valley Tribune, the fatal car accident occurred the night of December 16, 2016 when one of the speeding vehicles slammed into the woman’s car on Colima Road just north of Mar Vista Street. Police arrested Corey James Kiefer and Jacob Zamora, both 22, on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter.
The two cars involved were a white Hyundai and a black BMW, both racing one another. One of the vehicles lost control and struck the other, sending the Hyundai into opposing lanes, striking an oncoming Honda Accord. The female driver was pronounced dead at a local hospital while her juvenile son was transported to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Officials are still looking into whether drunk driving played a role in the crash.

Two Killed in Anaheim Street Racing Crash
Two people were killed and one person was severely injured in a fiery street-racing crash in Anaheim early morning on December 10, 2016. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the crash was reported in the 1700 block of West Ball Road. Witnesses told police two cars were speeding west on Ball Road at 80 to 100 mph, in a 40 mph zone, when the driver of an 2003 Infiniti lost control and jumped the curb shearing a light pole and hitting several parked cars.
Injury and Fatalities
It then crashed into a home and burst into flames two feet from the living room of Martin Sanchez who officials say may have saved the life of the car’s 24-year-old passenger by using a garden hose to put out the flames that had spread to the man’s clothes. First responders found two people dead in the car.
The passenger is said to be in critical condition, but is expected to survive. The male driver of the Infiniti and the other male passenger, have not yet been identified because they were both badly burned. Police are continuing their search for the second vehicle, described as a red sports car, possibly a Mustang or Camaro. Continue reading →
