Pablo Barrios, 26, was killed in a head-on car accident in Palmdale in which another man was suspected of driving under the influence. According to an NBC news report, the incident occurred on 90th Street East, south of Avenue Q the night of July 17. A preliminary investigation determined that 20-year-old Jamie Gonzalez was driving south on 90th Street at an undetermined speed approaching a vehicle going northbound and driven by Barrios when Gonzalez veered into the northbound lane and slammed head-on into Barrios’ vehicle. A 23-year-old woman was killed in a car accident and many others were seriously injured when a vehicle drove over the center median and collided with a light pole. According to a news report on Patch.com, the crash occurred early morning of July 8th at the intersection of 190th Street and Crenshaw Boulevard. A driver in a 2015 Dodge Charger was heading north on Crenshaw Boulevard and drove over the median crashing into a light pole on the intersection’s southwest corner. Seven people were injured, including five children, when two cars collided in a high-impact smash in South Los Angeles. According to a KTLA news report, the car crash took place in the Florence neighborhood of LA on the afternoon of June 30, near the intersection of Avalon Boulevard and 77th Street. Footage from the scene shows a compact Mazda hatchback with its front end smashed perpendicularly into the rear of a Chevrolet Trailblazer. Some of the victims were left in critical condition.

A good Samaritan was killed on the 5 Freeway in Downey as she attempted to help the driver of a disabled vehicle. According to a City News Service report, the accident occurred just north of the Lakewood Boulevard exit. A Mitsubishi Lancer became disabled in traffic lanes after its driver told officers he struck the center median at Lakewood Boulevard because he was cut off by a gray Chevrolet. Continue reading →

Cell phone video has captured the driver of a minivan speeding down the 91 Freeway in Corona with a motorcycle wrapped around the front bumper. According to a CBS Los Angeles news report, the person who shot the video said the scene unfolded the night of June 19. One person was killed and two others were seriously injured when an SUV crashed into the front of a restaurant in the Silver Lake neighborhood of Los Angeles. According to a report in the Los Angeles Times, the vehicle was on the wrong side of the street and speeding when it swerved into an oncoming car on the morning of June 17th. Vicki Gonzales, 63, was killed in a Riverside car accident, in which two others were also seriously injured. According to a report in The Press Enterprise, the crash occurred on the afternoon of June 13th at the intersection of Arlington and Magnolia avenues. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the injury crash occurred in the 1200 block of West Coast Highway in front of the Balboa Bay Resort.
