Francisco Deluna, 49, was killed in a car accident in Lake Elsinore, which officials say, was caused by a driver who was under the influence. According to a City News Service report, the fatal crash occurred the night of Jan. 8 near the Railroad Canyon/Diamond Road exit. California Highway Patrol officials said Deluna, who was driving south in a 2020 Nissan Versa, slowed down because of a traffic break ahead. Dane Adkins-Radford and Emily Hale, both 21, were killed in a Hemet car accident, which officials say, was caused by a DUI driver. According to a KTLA news report, the fatal crash occurred early morning on Dec. 12 near Florida Avenue and Kirby Street. Hemet police say a Honda Fit hatchback with three people inside was stopped at a red light when a BMW 535i sedan rear-ended it without braking. A couple was killed and their three young children were critically injured in a Newport Beach DUI crash that occurred the night of Dec. 8. According to a CBS Los Angeles news report, the fatal crash occurred on Newport Coast Drive, which is a steep roadway that goes by the Pelican Hill Resort. A suspected drunk driver was arrested after a fiery crash that killed a 31-year-old man and seriously injured four children in San Bernardino the night of Nov. 27. According to a KTLA news report, Brandon Jaquez-Perez, 23, was driving a Ford Mustang at a high speed on Kendall Drive when he blew through a red light at the intersection of University Parkway. Briauna Ramirez, 18, was killed in a Lynwood DUI crash after the vehicle in which she was a passenger was struck by a wrong-way driver, who officials said, was under the influence. According to a CBS Los Angeles news report, Ramirez had just celebrated her 18th birthday and was among several passengers who were injured in the crash. She was in a vehicle that was traveling on the 105 Freeway in Lynwood early morning on Oct. 22 when someone driving the wrong way in a 1999 Honda crashed head-on into the vehicle in which Ramirez was riding. A suspected drunk driver crashed into a home in Pomona, killing 59-year-old Yolanda Bozonier, who was inside. According to an NBC Los Angeles news report, the crash was reported on the night of Sept. 17 in the 1100 block of Colony Driver near South Hamilton Boulevard. Officers arrived to find a car that was partially inside the house. The victim inside was trapped under the vehicle for at least 20 minutes and died at the scene. Continue reading →

A male pedestrian was struck and killed early morning on Sept. 20 by a suspected DUI driver. According to a City News Service report, 30-year-old Elizabeth Landess of Long Beach was arrested on suspicion of felony driving under the influence. The incident occurred just after midnight in the 15900 block of Pacific Coast Highway. Officers who arrived at the scene found the pedestrian unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at the scene. After an investigation, the driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. A teen motorist who allegedly ran a red light while impaired, triggered a collision with a Metro bus, left 14 people injured. According to an NBC Los Angeles news report, the incident occurred on the morning of Aug. 19 at the intersection of Whittier Boulevard and Downey Road. California Highway Patrol officials said the 17-year-old male was behind the wheel of a 2000 Volkswagen Beetle that was traveling southbound on Downey Road when it collided with the bus, which was eastbound on Whittier Boulevard. A 41-year-old Oxnard woman was killed and a 14-year-old boy was severely injured in a car accident, which officials said, was caused by a woman who was driving under the influence. According to a KTLA news report, the crash took place on the morning of June 6th at the intersection of Rice Avenue and Channel Islands Boulevard. Police say a 2017 Nissan Rogue was stopped at a red traffic signal along northbound Rice Avenue just before the wreck. A 14-year-old boy was driving it with a 41-year-old woman riding as a passenger. Two men were killed when a suspected drunk driver plowed into their car in Anaheim the night of May 23. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, one of the victims was ejected when a silver Mazda CX9 minivan headed east on La Palma Avenue struck his car near the intersection of Oliver Street.
