Rodney Richard, 22, was killed in a Lancaster hit and run crash early morning on Aug. 4. According to a KTLA news report, the incident occurred at the intersection of Lancaster Boulevard near Elm Avenue. Police said Richard was talking to the occupants of a black sedan parked by the curb when an eastbound full-size white truck, believed to be a Chevrolet or Dodge, struck him. A 75-year-old woman was fatally injured in a hit-and-run car accident in Rowland Heights the night of June 11. According to a news report in the San Gabriel Valley Tribune, the incident occurred in the 1800 block of South Saleroso Drive at Rio Bonito Drive. The woman who was crossing the street with her husband was struck by a 2009 Pontiac G6, which left the scene after the collision. Christopher Frushon was only 19 and days after from his high school graduation when he was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in Compton. According to a CBS Los Angeles news report, Frushon was walking across Wilmington Avenue in a marked crosswalk near Stockwell Avenue when he was hit by a car and launched into the air. According to a CBS Los Angeles news report, the boy was walking home from Pacoima Elementary School at the intersection of Laurel Canyon Boulevard and Montague Avenue when the collision occurred. According to LAPD, a van that was northbound on Laurel Canyon rear-ended a 2006 Kia Spectra. The family of 22-year-old Fredrick Frazier who was killed in a bicycle accident involving a hit-and-run is pleading with the driver who left the scene to turn herself in and be held accountable. According to a news report in the Los Angeles Daily News, Frazier was riding his bicycle and had just turned right onto eastbound Manchester Avenue from Normandie Avenue when he was struck by a Porsche Cayenne traveling at a high rate of speed east on Manchester the afternoon of April 10. Officials arrested 53-year-old Timothy Anthony Cronin of Laguna Niguel on suspicion of hit-and-run exactly one year after he struck and seriously injured a bicyclist. According to a news reporter in The Orange County Register, Orange County Sheriff’s Department officials made the arrest on Feb. 4 Super Bowl Sunday. One year ago, on Feb. 5, 2017, a bicyclist was struck by a vehicle at Niguel Road and Ridgeway Avenue in Laguna Niguel.
