A woman was seriously injured in a Santa Ana car accident, which officials say involved a hit-and-run driver. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the major injury collision occurred the morning of February 16, 2012 at the intersection of Bristol Street and Elder Avenue. The pedestrian, who was between 50 and 60 years old, was walking north on the west sidewalk of Bristol and began crossing Elder. She was about four to five feet into the intersection when a driver who was traveling east on Elder struck her.

The impact from the collision knocked the victim to the number three lane of Bristol. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene before police arrived. No vehicle description is available at this time. The woman, who was lying unconscious on the roadway, suffered severe head injuries and was transported to Western Medical Center. Ruben Crummie, 71, was killed in an Inglewood car accident after he was struck by two vehicles. According to a CBS news report, the fatal pedestrian accident occurred the night of February 2, 2012 near the intersection of Crenshaw Boulevard and Hardy Street. Inglewood police say Crummie exited his stalled truck to get gas when he was hit. The first car that hit him stopped, but the second driver fled the scene. Police are hoping that witnesses to the incident will provide them information about the second driver. No arrests have been made pending an official investigation.

Jose Javier Diaz, 55, was fatally injured in a Santa Ana car accident after he was struck by two vehicles while crossing the street. According to a CBS news report, the fatal pedestrian accident occurred in the 400 block of South Broadway Street, the night of January 28, 2012. Police say Diaz was walking across Broadway when a white pickup truck traveling northbound hit him, knocking him into the southbound lane where a green Ford Mustang with a black convertible top struck him. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the injury collision occurred the morning of December 19, 2011 at the intersection of Euclid Street and Catherine Drive. Police say Varillas was driving a Honda Civic south on Euclid Street with her 1-year-old child.

A Chevy Cavalier made a left turn in front of the Civic at the intersection. The male driver of the Cavalier abandoned his car about 50 feet from the Civic and walked away from the scene. Varillas was hospitalized with injuries, but the child was uninjured. Officials are still looking for the hit-and-run driver. He was last spotted at a 7-Eleven market near the scene of the crash.

A 47-year-old bicyclist was killed in an Orange County car accident, which officials say, involved a hit-and-run driver, the night of December 13, 2011. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the bicycle accident occurred at the intersection of Serrano Road and Ridge Route in Lake Forest. Police say the male bicyclist was hit by a white van. The hit-and-run vehicle was last seen leaving the crash northbound on Serrano Road. Larry Dean Hughes, 62, was fatally injured in a Los Angeles car accident after a Ford Mustang struck him and left the scene of the crash. According to a City News Service report, the major injury pedestrian accident occurred at the intersection of Exposition Boulevard at Normandie Avenue in Los Angeles, the early morning of November 21, 2011. LAPD officials say Hughes was walking south on Normandie Avenue while crossing Exposition in a marked crosswalk, when the Mustang hit him. The Mustang made a right turn onto Exposition and kept driving without stopping to help the injured pedestrian.
