A 45-year-old man suffered critical injuries in an Anaheim car accident after he was struck by a vehicle whose driver left the scene. According to a City News Service report, the major injury collision occurred early morning on July 27, 2011 in the 2100 block of South Harbor Boulevard near Orangewood Avenue. Officials say the pedestrian was walking across the southbound lanes when he was hit by a Toyota pickup truck. The driver did not stop and kept going. Police are asking witnesses to contact them and help with the investigation. Officials say the Toyota pickup likely has front-end damage. Bo Feng, 17, was killed in an Alhambra car accident after she was struck by a vehicle while walking in a marked crosswalk. According to a news report in The San Gabriel Valley Tribune, the fatal car accident occurred the night of July 15, 2011, at the intersection of New Avenue and Shorb Avenue. Officials say a 73-year-old man who hit Feng fled the scene of the crash. Feng died a few hours after the collision. Police are investigating this hit-and-run car accident.

I offer my deepest condolences to the family members and friends of Bo Feng for their tragic and heartbreaking loss. Apparently, Feng had recently been accepted to San Diego State and was looking forward to “dorm shopping.” What a horrific tragedy!

A man in his 50s was seriously injured in a Los Angeles car accident involving a hit-and-run driver. According to an ABC 7 news report, the hit-and-run crash occurred the night of July 8, 2011 on South Santa Fe Avenue in Huntington Park. Officials have not released the name of the victim or how the crash occurred. The report does state that the man suffered serious injuries when the car struck him. Manuel Cadena, 64, was killed in a Victorville car accident, which officials say, involved a hit-and-run driver. According to a news report in The San Bernardino County Sun, the fatal pedestrian accident occurred on Palmdale Road, near Borego Road, the night of June 26, 2011. The driver left the scene.

Officials found Cadena lying on the roadway and transported him to a local hospital where he died. Eyewitnesses have described the hit-and-run vehicle as a dark green or black SUV, possibly a Toyota. Jorge Nunez, 36, was critically injured in a Riverside car accident, which officials say, involved a hit-and-run driver. According to a news report in The Press-Enterprise, the injury collision occurred early morning on June 12, 2011 at the intersection of Sixth and Harris streets in Corona. Officials say Nunez was walking across Sixth Street pushing a shopping cart when a vehicle traveling west on Sixth Street collided with him. The victim was hospitalized with serious injuries. The driver fled the scene of the crash. Police are looking for a green over gray Ford Aerostar van that may have damage near its right headlight. Pedro Cervantes, 24, was killed in a Riverside car accident involving a driver who, officials say, may have been under the influence of alcohol. According to a CBS Los Angeles news report, the fatal DUI collision occurred on Avenida Maravilla in Cathedral City the night of May 27, 2011. Police say 26-year-old Randy Merida, caused the fatal pedestrian accident when he struck Cervantes, who was in a wheelchair. Merida then fled the scene leaving Cervantes critically injured. Merida was later arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, gross vehicular manslaughter and hit-and-run.

According to a news report in The Press-Enterprise, the injury collision occurred the afternoon of May 24, 2011 at the intersection of Cactus and Bloomington avenues in Rialto. Police say a Dodge Ram pickup truck collided with a Toyota Camry, injuring the Camry’s driver. The driver of the Dodge Ram fled the scene of the accident. Police say the hit-and-run driver may have been a parolee at large. The extent of the victim’s injuries is not known. An investigation is ongoing.
