LAPD officials have doubled the reward for information in the search for a hit-and-run driver who they say fled after striking and fatally injuring 76-year-old Kuen Ham. According to a KTLA news report, Ham was crossing Miramar Street early morning on Nov. 23 when the driver of a Toyota Corolla making a left turn from Union Avenue struck her. Hildeliza Rios, 80, was injured in a San Fernando hit and run crash the morning of Nov. 19. According to a KTLA news report, the 911 call about the hit-and-run at the intersection of North Maclay Avenue and 8th Street came in around 10:30 a.m. Rios was found complaining of pain in the back and legs. A man was killed in a Los Angeles bicycle accident, which officials said, involved a suspected hit and run driver. According to a KTLA news report, the collision occurred the night of Nov. 18 along Main Street just north of 120th Street in the Broadway-Manchester neighborhood. The driver of a dark-colored sedan was heading north on Main when they crashed into the bicyclist. Police said the driver of the sedan did not stop to assist the victim. Continue reading →

A 64-year-old man was killed in a Pasadena hit-and-run crash on Nov. 13. According to a CBS Los Angeles news report, officials have arrested 20-year-old Alberto Fernandez of Victorville in connection with the crash. The fatal collision occurred near the intersection of Orange Grove Boulevard and Marengo Avenue. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Fernandez was detained several hours after the crash in Monrovia by the California Highway Patrol. Officials have not said what led them to initially detain Fernandez. Continue reading →

Richard “Richie” Martinez, 3, is in critical condition after a hit-and-run driver struck and critically injured the toddler as he was trick-or-treating in San Bernardino on Halloween night. According to a KTLA news report, the major injury crash occurred the night of Oct. 31 near the intersection of 35th Street and North Sierra Way. Officers arrived to find an injured 3-year-old boy who had been struck by a vehicle that fled the area. Richard was transported to an area hospital in critical but stable condition. According to a KTLA news report, a 44-year-old man surrendered at the LAPD’s Hollenbeck station in Boyle heights the morning of Oct. 24. Authorities booked Oscar Suarez in connection with the hit and run that sent Cartagena to an intensive care unit with severe injuries. A 50-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Rialto. According to a news report in The Press-Enterprise, police found a man lying unresponsive in the area of Riverside Avenue, south of Merrill Avenue, the night of Oct. 12. Paramedics declared the man dead at the scene. Since the incident, investigators say they’ve analyzed debris at the scene, witness statements and a photograph, leading officials to suspect that a vehicle had struck the man as he crossed the street.
