Los Angeles police officials have released surveillance video and images in their search for a hit and run driver who fatally struck a pedestrian in downtown Los Angeles on Sept. 27. According to a KTLA news report, officials were called to investigate the incident at the intersection of Fourth and Central Streets. Los Angeles police are looking for the driver of a Mercedes-Benz sedan involved in a hit and run crash earlier this month, which left a 70-year-old woman critically injured. According to a KTLA news report, the major injury collision occurred in Chinatown on Sept. 4. The victim was crossing Broadway Street at College Street with the “walk” signal when a black Mercedes struck her catapulting her into the air before she landed on the ground. City Councilman Gil Cedillo’s office has announced a $25,000 reward to anyone who can provide information leading to the driver’s identification, arrest and conviction. Continue reading →

Richard Urzua, 54, was severely injured in a Los Angeles hit and run crash, leaving him in a coma. According to a KTLA news report, Urzua was on his way to buy food and medicine for his parents when he was hit while crossing the intersection of Long Beach Boulevard and Indiana Street the afternoon of Sept. 13. A 72-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a fatal Westlake hit and run collision. According to a KTLA news report, Ramiro Vincente Torres was taken into custody the night of Aug. 27 after he was alleged to have fatally struck a woman earlier that morning on Wilshire Boulevard and Alvarado Street. The woman was crossing the boulevard early morning when the driver in a white pickup truck, later identified as Torres, hit her while traveling east. Continue reading →

Officials are looking for a hit and run driver who they say struck and killed 82-year-old Ramon Reyno the morning of Aug. 24 in La Puente. According to a KTLA news report, officials say Reyno was walking along Valley Boulevard west of Giano Avenue when a pickup truck struck him. The vehicle was traveling west on Valley Boulevard when it veered right, crossed over the sidewalk and hit the pedestrian. Reyno was transported to an area hospital where he died from his injuries. A woman was killed in an Irvine car accident involving a driver who was suspected of driving drunk and then fleeing the scene of the collision. According to a City News Service report, police responded to a crash the night of Aug. 22 at the intersection of Main Street and Culver Drive. Witnesses reported that a black Hyundai Elantra collided with a white Ford F-150 driven by a man who fled the scene. Continue reading →

Glendale police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a hit-and-run driver who struck and critically injured a 13-year-old girl in Glendale. According to a CBS Los Angeles news report, the incident occurred on the afternoon of July 24 in the 800 block of East Garfield Avenue. Police are seeking the driver of a white Jeep Cherokee who they say was involved in a deadly hit and run crash in Santa Ana on July 17 that took the life of a pedestrian identified as 81-year-old Norman Kent of Garden Grove. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, several people called police to report a man lying in the intersection of Harbor Boulevard and McFadden Avenue the night of July 17th. Orange County fire officials arrived and tried to treat the injured person later identified as Kent. But, he died before he could be transported to a hospital. Continue reading →
