A man was severely injured in an Orange County car accident after his motorcycle crashed into a disabled vehicle. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the injury motorcycle accident occurred in the northbound lanes of the 55 Freeway at La Veta Avenue, the night of October 18, 2011. California Highway Patrol officials say that the disabled vehicle was in a freeway lane at the time of the accident. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment. It is not clear why the disabled vehicle was in traffic lanes or why the victim was unable to avoid the collision. An investigation is ongoing.

A motorcyclist was injured in an Orange County car accident after he was hit by a vehicle, the morning of October 3, 2011. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the motorcycle accident occurred in the eastbound lanes of the 22 Freeway at Fairview Street in Orange. California Highway Patrol officials say the driver of a Mercury Mariner SUV merged from the carpool lane of the freeway and entered into the path of a man riding a Yamaha R6 motorcycle. The motorcyclist then swerved to avoid being hit by the SUV, but ended up crashing into the back of a Chevy Silverado pickup that had stopped in traffic lanes. The motorcyclist was transported to an area hospital for treatment. An investigation is ongoing.

A man was injured in a Los Angeles motorcycle accident when his vehicle skidded on a patch of oil on the freeway. According to a City News Service report, the injury accident occurred on the 110 Freeway, near Century Boulevard, the early morning of September 29, 2011. The victim was traveling with a number of other motorcyclists at the time of the accident. They have stated that the oil in the number two lane caused the victim to lose control of his motorcycle. He was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. An investigation is ongoing.

A man was injured in a Santa Ana car accident involving a collision between a Harley-Davidson and a white Honda Accord, the morning of August 30, 2011. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the motorcycle accident occurred on North Bristol Street, near Memory Lane, in Santa Ana. A motorcyclist was injured in an Anaheim car accident after he was hit by a vehicle at a street intersection, the afternoon of August 18, 2011. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the injury crash occurred at the intersection of Brookhurst Street and Orangethorpe Avenue. The man was riding a Suzuki motorcycle when a Toyota Camry struck him. The female driver of the Toyota was not injured. The motorcyclist was transported by ambulance to a local hospital, but the extent of his injuries is not known at this time. An investigation is ongoing.

Thomas Michael Skelly, 35, was severely injured in a Costa Mesa car accident involving a collision between a motorcycle and a Jeep Cherokee. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the motorcycle accident occurred in the 1600 block of Superior Avenue in Costa Mesa, the night of July 15, 2011. Skelly was travelling southbound when the driver of the Jeep that was heading north turned left. The Jeep pulled ahead of Skelly’s motorcycle and the vehicles collided head-on. Skelly suffered serious injuries in the collision and was transported to an area trauma center. Investigators are searching for witnesses to the crash. An investigation is ongoing.
