Three pedestrians suffered non-life-threatening injuries after a driver who officials say was under the influence and was fleeing the scene of another crash nearly struck them. According to a KTLA news report, 32-year-old Luis Tecun allegedly crashed his 2011 Camaro into a vehicle on Brand Boulevard and Harvard Street the night of Jan. 27. He drove away from the scene with the victim trailing behind him. Tecun then allegedly crashed into a parked vehicle at Brand and Maple Street. Man Killed in Costa Mesa Pedestrian Accident
A man was struck and killed in a pedestrian accident in Costa Mesa early morning on Jan. 2, 2018. According to a City News Service report, the fatal collision was reported about midnight on Newport Boulevard between 17th and 18th streets. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said he was crossing the street outside the crosswalk when he was struck. The driver of the vehicle and witnesses remained at the scene and were helping police with the investigation. Elderly Man Critically Injured in Anaheim Pedestrian Accident
A 74-year-old man suffered critical injuries in a pedestrian accident in Anaheim. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the incident occurred the afternoon of November 4, 2017. A 27-year-old man driving a Jeep Wrangler was turning north onto South Lemon Street from East Orangefair Mall when he struck the pedestrian. The older man was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries that were not specified. The driver remained at the scene and was cooperating with investigators. Woman Killed in Huntington Beach Pedestrian Accident
A 58-year-old woman was killed in a Huntington Beach pedestrian accident after a vehicle struck her at a street intersection. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the fatal collision was reported the night of October 19, 2017 at the intersection of Goldenwest Street and Tucana Drive. Officials say a driver in a Nissan Rogue was traveling north on Goldenwest Street and struck a pedestrian walking east across the same street.
The driver, a 55-year-old Huntington Beach woman, remained at the scene. The victim was also a local resident. No citations or arrests have been reported and the investigation is ongoing. Four people were critically injured in a pedestrian accident in Los Alamitos in the afternoon of October 11, 2017. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the incident occurred near the intersection of Ball Road and Bloomfield Street. Man in Wheelchair Killed in Stanton Pedestrian Accident
A 64-year-old man in a wheelchair suffered fatal injuries after he was struck while on a sidewalk by a car that was involved in a chain-reaction collision. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the fatal accident occurred at the intersection of Beach Boulevard and Chapman Avenue the afternoon of August 15, 2017. The man was transported to an area hospital where he died.
Officials say an Acura and a Nissan Murano were traveling south on Beach when the Acura collided with the Nissan. At least seven people were injured in a two-car crash resulted in one of the vehicles crashing into a Starbucks in Valley Glen. Man Changing Tire Struck and Killed on Southland Freeway
Eduardo Gutierrez, 55, was killed in an auto accident the afternoon of July 8, 2017 after a passing tow truck struck him as he was changing a tire on his vehicle. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, Gutierrez was stopped off the westbound 10 at the exit to the 210 in Redlands when he and his vehicle were hit by the tow truck. Gutierrez was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly afterward. No citations or arrests were reported pending an official investigation. Continue reading →
