Harlee Ferris, 24 months, was killed and her father Robert Ferris, 32, was critically injured after a vehicle struck them both the evening of Nov. 4. According to a KABC news report, the dad and daughter were crossing Santa Gertrudes Avenue when a sedan traveling north on Santa Gertrudes hit them. Pedestrian Killed in Lake Forest Hit and Run Crash
Oscar Martinez, 33, was killed in a Lake Forest pedestrian accident, which officials say, involved a hit-and-run driver. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the fatal crash occurred the evening of Sept. 24. Witnesses reported the man lying in the street suffering from a head injury near the intersection of Ridge Route Drive and Rockfield Boulevard. Pedestrian Suffers Critical Injuries in Downtown LA Ambulance Crash
A Los Angeles Fire Department ambulance struck and critically injured a pedestrian in Downtown Los Angeles the afternoon of Sept. 21. According to a KTLA news report, the person who was hit at the intersection of Fifth Street and Broadway, sustained life-threatening injuries. The victim was transported to an area hospital. Officials did not say whether the ambulance was transporting anyone at the time of the collision. No other information was released. Los Angeles Police Department officials are investigation the incident.
Boy Killed in Montclair Pedestrian Accident
An 11-year-old boy who was walking to school in Montclair was struck and killed by a pickup truck the morning of Sept. 6. According to a KTLA news report, the boy who had just been dropped off near Vernon Middle School was hit while walking in a marked crosswalk at the intersection of San Bernardino Street and Vernon Avenue. Pedestrian Killed in Orange DUI Crash
A 39-year-old man was killed in an Orange pedestrian accident the evening of Aug. 18 after he was struck by a driver who officials say was under the influence. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, officials say Erin Meacham, 50, was driving north on Glassell Street when her vehicle struck the man. The man was reportedly crossing the street outside of a crosswalk near Quincy Avenue. The man died at the scene before he could be transferred to an area hospital. Meacham did not flee the scene. Pedestrian Killed in Downtown Los Angeles Hit and Run Crash
A 78-year-old man identified as Byung Gyu Yu was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Downtown Los Angeles early morning on Aug. 10. According to a KABC news report, the collision was captured on surveillance video. LAPD responded to the call near Third Street and Union Avenue. They said Yu was crossing the street when an SUV struck him and fled the scene. Yu died from his injuries. Officials said the man lived at the nearby senior living facility. Continue reading →

A teenage boy was struck and critically injured in a Fullerton pedestrian accident while crossing the street. According to a news report in Patch.com, the major injury collision occurred in the early morning hours of June 29 in the 900 block of North Placentia Avenue. The boy was transported to an area hospital with major injuries. Police say preliminary investigations show a black 2017 Nissan Sentra driven by a 45-year-old woman was going south on Placentia just north of Nutwood Avenue when it struck the pedestrian who was crossing eastbound on Placentia Avenue outside a crosswalk. Fatal Pedestrian Accident in Buena Park, Drugged Driving Suspected
Buena Park police have arrested a man who was believed to have been under the influence of marijuana when he fatally struck 51-year-old San Tec Tamayo. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the incident occurred the night of June 23. Officers found Tamayo unresponsive. He had been hit while crossing the street with his family in a marked crosswalk at Western Avenue and Jackson Way. Four Students Injured in Pedestrian Accident in Paramount
Four students were injured in a pedestrian accident after a teen driver struck them at an intersection in Paramount right outside their high school. According to a KTLA news report, the students had just gotten out of school the afternoon of March 19 and were near the intersection of Rosecrans and Downey avenues outside Paramount High School when they were hit by a pickup truck that went out of control. Man Killed in Santa Ana Pedestrian Accident
A man was killed in a Santa Ana pedestrian accident the morning of Feb. 7 after a car struck him while he was crossing the street. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the fatal crash occurred at the intersection of Bristol and First streets. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Based on the preliminary investigation, officials say the pedestrian was walking east across Bristol in the crosswalk.
The vehicle was headed north on Bristol when the collision occurred. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the police. Investigators don’t believe alcohol or drugs played a part in this fatal crash. No arrests or citations were reported pending an official investigation. Continue reading →
