A man suffered critical injuries in a Seal Beach car accident after a vehicle crashed into the bus bench on which he was sitting. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the major injury crash occurred the night of July 23, 2012. The vehicle drove into a bench inside a bus shelter on Seal Beach Boulevard just north of Pacific Coast Highway.

The victim was trapped in the debris of the collapsed bus shelter. Police say he was sitting on the bench just before the vehicle crashed into it. The victim was transported to an area trauma center where he has been listed in critical condition. The driver stopped at the scene and talked to officials, but it is not clear why the crash occurred. Officials do not believe alcohol or drugs were involved. Anyone who witnessed this crash is asked to contact police at 562-799-4100, ext. 1612.

According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the injury crash occurred on the 5 Freeway at the 22 Freeway where it enters the Orange Crush the morning of July 19, 2012. California Highway Patrol officials said that a Chevrolet sedan made an unsafe lane change, forcing the rider on a Harley-Davidson into the side of a Toyota Corolla. The motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.

At least one person was injured in a car accident in Anaheim that involved three vehicles. According to The Orange County Register, the injury crash occurred the afternoon of July 18, 2012 on the 91 Freeway at the Imperial Highway on-ramp. California Highway Patrol officials said the collision involved a red Jeep Liberty with four occupants, a Hyundai Sonata with a solo female driver and an Acura RSX-S with a solo male driver. One of the vehicles overturned and at least one person was transported to a nearby hospital. Officials are still investigating the cause of this accident.

Five people were injured in a Laguna Hills car accident, which officials say involved several vehicles. According to a news article in The Orange County Register, the injury crash occurred the morning of July 17, 2012 on the Interstate-5 at the Alicia Parkway on-ramp. California Highway Patrol officials say a silver Toyota pickup truck was one of the first involved in a chain-reaction collision on the southbound 5 Freeway. The pickup rolled over several times before coming to rest on the right shoulder. Firefighters treated five people at the scene, four of whom were transported to an area hospital. A total of four vehicles were involved. An investigation is ongoing.

Four people, including an 11-year-old identified as Anthony Gonzalez, were injured during a dog attack involving two animals. According to a report in The Whittier Daily News, the dog bite incident occurred in the 7000 block of Greenleaf Avenue on July 16, 2012. Officials say the two dogs, which were a Siberian Husky and pit bull, live at a residence on Greenleaf Avenue. The dogs escaped from their home and bit Anthony who was walking home with his sister. Brian Urbina, 22, a jogger was bitten by the pit bull on his right hand. Hermina Hernandez, 62, who was walking to the store was bitten by the Siberian Husky and the pit bull. A transient was also attacked and bitten. The injuries were not life threatening.

Three people were injured in a street intersection car collision in Garden Grove involving two vehicles. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the injury crash occurred at the intersection of West Street and Orangewood Avenue, the morning of July 12, 2012. Police say, the driver of a Suzuki Aerio was heading west on Orangewood Avenue and entered the intersection on a red light.

The Suzuki collided with a Mitsubishi Lancer that was traveling north on West Street. The impact of the collision caused the Lancer to roll over. A man and a woman in the Lancer were transported to a trauma center as was a boy in the vehicle, who officials say, was not injured, but “traumatized by the incident.” A female passenger in the Suzuki was also transported to an area hospital. The investigation is ongoing.

A 5-year-old boy was seriously injured in an Orange County dog attack involving a mixed Labrador retriever. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the dog bite incident occurred in the 1800 block of West Elm Avenue in Anaheim the afternoon of July 9, 2012. Officials say the boy was at a neighbor’s house when the dog attacked him. He suffered serious facial injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment, but he is expected to recover. The neighbor, who was also the dog’s owner, turned the dog over to animal control and asked that the animal be put down.

According to The Orange County Register, a man suffered critical injuries in an accident involving illegal fireworks in Huntington Beach, the night of July 4, 2012. This happened after the fact that for the first time in 20 years, residents of Huntington Beach were allowed to legally light state-approved “safe and sane” fireworks. Officials say the victim was injured substantially and had to be transferred from Huntington Beach Hospital to the UCI Medical Center. It is not clear how the injuries occurred and who lit the illegal fireworks in question. The investigation is underway.

According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the injury crash occurred at the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Rio Vista Street, the afternoon of July 2, 2012. Anaheim police say a Ford Aerostar van was traveling south on Rio Vista when he ran a red light and broadsided the Coca-Cola, which was westbound on Lincoln. The male driver and female passenger in the Aerostar were transported to UCI Medical Center with life threatening injuries. The driver of the Coca-Cola truck was uninjured.
