Tracy Clow, 51, was fatally injured in an Irvine car accident after his pickup truck crashed into an utility pole. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the collision occurred the night of June 6, 2012 at the intersection of Von Karman and Anchor. Police say Clow’s Ford F-150 pickup truck went out of control and struck a light pole. No other vehicles seem to have been involved in the incident. Clow, a resident of Capistrano Beach, was pronounced dead at the scene. The fatal crash is still under investigation.

Brian Beato, 15, was killed in a Long Beach car accident when a car hit him as he crossed the street, the night of June 1, 2012. According to The Press-Telegram, the fatal pedestrian accident occurred on Spring Street near Stevely Avenue in Long Beach. Officials say Beato was walking with another youth when a westbound Honda Civic struck him. He succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter at a nearby medical center. At this time, officials have not cited the female driver of the Honda and they are waiting to discuss the crash with the other youth who was a witness.

An 86-year-old man, who was seriously injured in a Seal Beach car accident after being struck by a suspected drunk driver, died on May 28, 2012. According to The Orange County Register, the incident occurred the evening of May 20 at the intersection of St. Andrews Drive and Tam O’Shanter Road in Leisure World. The rider of the wheelchair was transported in critical condition to an area hospital while the driver, 75-year-old Dale Snyder Quinn, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. The coroner still has not released the name of the deceased victim or the cause of death. Seal Beach police and the Orange County District Attorney’s office are investigating the incident. Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact Seal Beach police at 562-799-4100.

Duy Nguyen, 24, of Santa Ana was killed in a Laguna Beach car accident after his car went out of control, crossed into opposing lanes of traffic and struck another vehicle. According to a news report in Corona del Mar Today, the fatal car accident occurred the night of May 30, 2012 at Coast Highway and State Park/El Morro School. The accident’s location was just outside of Newport Beach city limits. The driver of the other vehicle was transported to an area trauma center. The extent of the victim’s injuries is not known at this time. Nguyen died at the scene of the crash. California Highway Patrol officials are looking into what caused this fatal crash.

Emily Su, 6, was killed in a Los Angeles swimming pool accident, which officials say occurred during a block party, the night of May 28, 2012. According to a CBS Los Angeles news report, the fatal drowning incident occurred in the 4900 block of Indianola Way in La Canada Flintridge. Officials say Su was playing with a 5-year-old girl when that child came into the house, soaking wet. Su was found in the pool and they were unable to revive her. The pool had a fence around it, but it appears that the fence may have been damaged. An investigation is underway.

William Donovan, 60, of Irvine was killed in a Santa Ana car accident when a metal object crashed through his windshield and struck him. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the car crash occurred on the 55 Freeway near McFadden Avenue, the afternoon of May 11, 2012. Officials say Donovan was driving a Toyota in the number one lane when the debris went through his windshield. He sustained major head trauma and was pronounced dead at a nearby medical facility. Investigators suspect that the debris came from another vehicle. Witnesses with information about the incident are asked to call 714-567-6000.

Crawford Grant Reeves, 77, was killed in a Huntington Beach car accident after the parked car in which he was sitting was struck from behind by a tow truck. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the fatal car accident occurred early morning on May 10, 2012 near the intersection of Springdale and McCarthy streets. Police say Reeves and his 13-year-old grandson were sitting in a Chevy Impala that was parked along Springdale Street when a 2011 Dodge Ram tow truck crashed into the back of the parked car. The driver of the tow truck was not injured. Reeves and his grandson were transported to an area hospital where Reeves died. His grandson did not suffer life threatening injuries. So far, no arrests or citations have been issued in connection with this fatal crash. An investigation is ongoing.

February 1, 2012-Santa Rosa, CA-44-year-old Monica Shears died Monday from burns sustained in a house fire last week, authorities reported.

Ms. Shears was discovered on the ground just inside the doorway to her apartment on Sebastapol Road on January 16. Firefighters entered the building to fight a blaze which started in an empty bedroom on the second floor of the building. According to Battalion Chief Mark Basque, an empty gasoline can was found in the bedroom where the fire started. Sprinklers were able to contain the blaze, which was extinguished in about five minutes. No charges have been filed in the case at present.

Ms. Shears suffered second- and third-degree burns over the upper part of her body. She had earlier been transferred to the Bothin Burn Center at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in San Francisco.

According to KSL, a 14 year-old from Tremonton, Utah passed away after being shot in the face with a miniature replica cannon. The cannon was designed for displays only and not meant to fire projectiles. This unfortunate event began with two boys handling a replica of an 18th Century Naval cannon, yet it quickly descended into a wrongful death Utah. Our condolences go out to this family and friends of this young teen. This situation is a great example of when hiring a wrongful death attorney is appropriate.

Larry Hallstrom, 57, was killed in an Anaheim car accident, which officials say involved a driver who was under the influence. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the fatal pedestrian accident occurred early morning on October 22, 2011 in the 500 block of Beach Boulevard between Lincoln and Orange avenues. Officials say Hallstrom was crossing the roadway outside of a crosswalk and in traffic lanes when he was hit by a northbound 2000 Chevy S-10 pickup truck.

Hallstrom died at the scene. The driver of the pickup, 36-year-old Alexandro Cedillo, was arrested on suspicion of DUI and being under the influence of a controlled substance. Officials are also looking into whether other vehicles struck the pedestrian and left the scene. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Anaheim police at 714-765-1860.
