An 87-year-old woman with a walker was killed in a Los Angeles car accident after she was hit by a vehicle while crossing the driveway of a commercial parking lot. According to a report in the Whittier Daily News, the fatal pedestrian accident occurred the morning of October 13, 2011 on Imperial Highway near La Mirada Boulevard. Police say the woman was walking on the sidewalk. A vehicle that was pulling out of a commercial parking lot hit her, as she crossed the driveway. The woman died at the scene. It is not clear if the driver will be cited in connection with this fatal car accident.

Margaret Conway, 21, was killed in an Anaheim car accident after her bicycle was struck by another vehicle near Disneyland. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the fatal bicycle accident occurred in the early hours of October 13, 2011 on Ball Road at the Interstate 5 overpass. Conway, a Disneyland employee, was riding her bike home, when a white Ford SUV hit her from behind. Conway died from her injuries at a local trauma center. The driver of the SUV is not believed to have been under the influence, officials said. An investigation is ongoing.

Carmen Arugay, 65, was killed in a San Bernardino car accident when a car struck her as she crossed the street. According to a news report in The Press-Enterprise, the fatal pedestrian accident occurred at the intersection of Church Street and Terra Vista Parkway in Rancho Cucamonga, the morning of October 10, 2011. Arugay was walking in a crosswalk when a Ford F-150 pickup hit her. Arugay was transported to a nearby hospital where she died from her injuries. It is not clear if the driver will be cited for this fatal collision. An investigation is ongoing.

Ruth Brown, 96, of Costa Mesa, was killed in a Huntington Beach car accident involving five vehicles. According to a City News Service report, the fatal car crash occurred at the intersection of Adams Avenue and Bushard Street, the morning of October 7, 2011. Officials say a 2005 Mercedes-Benz stalled in traffic and three vehicles came to a stop behind it. It was then that a 2006 Mitsubishi Endeavor slammed into the back of the row of stopped cars. Six people were hospitalized in the chain reaction crash. The fatally injured woman was a passenger in a 2005 Toyota. It is unclear why the driver of the Mitsubishi was unable to stop in time to avoid the collision. An investigation is ongoing.

A woman was killed and two others were injured in a Whittier car accident that involved three vehicles. According to a report in The Whittier Daily News, the fatal car crash occurred at the intersection of Mulberry Drive and Greenleaf Avenue in Whittier, the night of October 4, 2011. Officials say the collision occurred when one of the drivers made a left turn in front of another vehicle. A female driver died shortly after the crash at a nearby hospital. Two other drivers sustained relatively minor injuries. Officials are still looking into the cause of the accident.

Gilani Taylor, 27, suffered life-threatening injuries and her 9-year-old daughter was killed in a Los Angeles car accident involving a hit-and-run driver. According to a KTLA news report, the fatal hit-and-run accident occurred on the 101 Freeway near Las Virgenes Road in Calabasas, the morning of October 1, 2011. A witness to the fatal crash, who was driving behind Taylor, stated that a white SUV sideswiped Taylor’s Chrysler sedan. The Chrysler then crashed into the center divider and slid on its roof before catching on fire. With the help of several Good Samaritans, Taylor was able to escape her burning vehicle, but they could not rescue her 9-year-old daughter. The girl died from her injuries. Taylor was critically injured and is on a respirator.

Two pedestrians, a man and a woman, were killed in an Anaheim car accident, near the Disneyland Resort, which officials say, involved an underage drunk driver. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the fatal DUI collision occurred at a crosswalk on South Harbor Boulevard, the early morning of October 1, 2011. The driver of a Chevrolet Astro van hit the two pedestrians as they crossed the road in a crosswalk. A male teenager, whose age was given as under 18, told police he was driving the van. Both victims were fatally injured in the crash. Alcohol has been described as a factor in this collision.

Francisco Cinto, 40, was killed in an Orange County car accident after his disabled car was rear-ended by an SUV on the 5 Freeway. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, Cinto’s Toyota Corolla was stopped in the southbound lanes of the freeway near Alicia Parkway, the night of September 27, 2010. Cinto had the hazard lights on, but was rear-ended by a 2007 Chevy Tahoe driven by a 21-year-old man. California Highway Patrol officials say the Tahoe struck the Corolla while travelling at about 70 mph. Cinto was in the car and was found dead when firefighters arrived. The driver of the SUV sustained moderate injuries. An investigation is ongoing.

Jason Cuellar, 8, was killed in a Fresno car accident after a vehicle in which he was a passenger was struck by a driver who police say ran a red light at an intersection. According to a CBS news report, the fatal crash occurred the evening of September 26, 2010, when an SUV traveling on Shepherd Avenue ran a red light at Champlain Drive and crashed into a Honda Civic. The Honda then struck a Volkswagen, which was waiting to make a left turn at the intersection.

Two people were killed and three others were seriously injured in a car accident, which officials say, was caused by a suspected drunk driver. According to a news report in The Fresno Bee, the fatal car crash occurred the night of September 24, 2010 on Road 208 near Terra Bella. California Highway Patrol officials say 23-year-old Adrian Ramos drove through a stop sign at Avenue 96 and collided with a westbound car driven by 69-year-old Manuel Valencia. Two people in Valencia’s car were killed. Ramos, Valencia and a passenger in Valencia’s car identified as 49-year-old Juan Hernadez, were hospitalized with serious injuries. Ramos was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving.
