No other vehicles were involved in the crash. It is not immediately clear whether alcohol or drugs were involved. Officials described the area as having “a dramatic curve.” The investigation into this fatal crash is ongoing.

Causes and Potential Liability Issues
Based on this news report, it is unclear as to how or why this fatal crash occurred. Police are still looking into whether alcohol or drugs were involved. But, there are still a number of unanswered questions here. Did speed play a part in this crash? Did a vehicle defect or mechanical malfunction in the car cause or contribute to the accident? Did a dangerous roadway design contribute to the fatal crash? These are just a few questions that must be asked and answered in such cases.
In such cases, it would be a good idea to preserve the vehicle in its crashed state so a qualified expert can thoroughly examine the vehicle for defects, malfunctions, design flaws and other crucial evidence. If a defective vehicle or part in the vehicle contributed to this crash, the victim’s family may be able to file a wrongful death lawsuit against the automaker. If a dangerous or defective roadway caused the accident, the city or governmental agency responsible for designing and/or maintaining the roadway could be held accountable as well.
