A man, who was fatally injured in a car accident in Los Angeles has been identified by authorities as 40-year-old Francisco Renteria. The San Gabriel Valley Tribune reports that the fatal car accident occurred the night of January 7, 2011 on the 60 Freeway in Monterey Park.
California Highway Patrol officials say that Renteria, who was driving a Nissan Frontier pickup truck sideswiped a 1996 Acura sedan driven by Melissa Bermudez, 22. Both vehicles were apparently trying to get on to the eastbound lanes of the freeway at the same time. Renteria sustained fatal injuries while Bermudez was taken to an area medical center with neck injuries. It is not clear which one of the drivers was at fault for the car accident.
