Four people were injured, three critically, in a Los Angeles car accident the night of November 8, 2009, the San Gabriel Valley Tribune reports. The injury car crash occurred at the intersection of Holt and End avenues. Emergency personnel responded to a report of a traffic accident involving several vehicles and of victims trapped in the wreckage. Three of the victims were taken to an area hospital and were listed in critical condition. The fourth victim sustained minor injuries, Los Angeles fire officials said.
My heart goes out to those who were critically injured in this car accident. I hope and pray that they get through these injuries and make a quick and complete recovery. These injured victims and their families will certainly be in my prayers.

According to California Highway Patrol’s 2007 Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System (SWITRS), 11 deaths and 894 injuries were reported as a result of car accident cases in Pomona, California. In Los Angeles County as a whole, car accidents claimed 712 lives and injured 56,475, in 2007.
This news report does not offer enough information to determine who or what may have caused this serious injury collision. There are of course, a number of possibilities as to why these types of car accidents occur. However, since this did happen at a street intersection, it seems to me that one or more of the vehicles involved in this crash did not yield right-of-way at the intersection. I would not be surprised if one of the drivers had run the red light and caused the collision.
