Yorik Ponce, 32, was killed in a San Bernardino car accident early morning October 26, 2009, the San Bernardino Sun reports. Ponce was driving a 1997 Jeep Wrangler west on the 10 Freeway near Mountain View Avenue when he came up against a crash scene. He apparently turned to avoid a collision but was instead, hit by another vehicle. The Jeep then rolled onto its side. Ponce died shortly after the accident at a local hospital, San Bernardino Coroner’s officials said.
I offer my deepest condolences to the family and friends of Yorik Ponce for their sudden and heartbreaking loss. He was obviously in the wrong place at the wrong time. My heart goes out to everybody who knew and loved this man. Please keep them in your prayers.

CHP officials say Ponce came upon the accident scene and could not stop in time to avoid the collision. It may be that Ponce was driving too fast given the traffic conditions.
