Six people were injured in an Orange County car accident, which involved three vehicles. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the injury collision occurred on Seal Beach Boulevard and the 405 Freeway in Seal Beach, the evening of November 30, 2011. Officials say two of the vehicles appear to have collided head-on and may have been traveling at high rates of speed. Initial reports state that one of the two vehicles veered from its lane and struck a third.

Two SUVs – a Ford Explorer and Expedition – along with a pickup truck were involved in the crash. A family of four including two children and two other drivers were injured in the collision. Two people had to be extricated from a vehicle. The injured victims -three men, a woman, and two girls were transported to area hospitals, but it is not clear if the injuries were life-threatening. An investigation is ongoing.

Three men suffered serious injuries on the job after the trench in which they were working caved in on them. According to a report in the Los Angeles Daily News, the construction accident occurred at 12130 W. Keswick Street in Sun Valley the afternoon of November 29, 2011. The three workers were buried up to their waists. They were rescued by firefighters and transported to an area hospital. One of the workers is said to be in serious condition and the other two are reportedly in fair condition. Officials are looking into what caused this cave-in.

Brothers Richard Garritson, 21, and John Garritson, 18, were severely injured in a San Diego dog bite incident after they were attacked by a pack of dogs, the evening of November 27, 2011. According to a news report in The San Diego Union-Tribune, the brutal dog attack occurred when the brothers were out for a run with their two sisters and 9-year-old niece. The incident occurred on Cobb Lane near Coolwater Ranch Lane. Richard Garritson was airlifted to a hospital with bites to both his calves, while his brother, John Garritson, was hospitalized with less serious injuries. Officials say the brothers were trying to fend off six dogs that attacked them. An investigation is ongoing.

Marcos Stead, 48, was killed in a Huntington Beach car accident after he was hit by a vehicle while crossing the street. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the fatal pedestrian accident occurred on Beach Boulevard, between Edinger Avenue and Stark Drive, in Huntington Beach, the night of November 24, 2011. Officials have not stated if Stead was in a crosswalk at the time of the crash. He was struck by a BMW X5, whose driver remained at the site to speak with authorities. Stead was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The 52-year-old female driver has not been cited for the collision, but the accident remains under investigation.

According to a news article in Corona Del Mar Today, the injury crash occurred the afternoon of November 22, 2011 at the intersection of East Coast Highway and Marguerite Avenue in Corona Del Mar. The city of Burbank has a growing concern regarding bicycle accidents and personal injury in the city. Based on the number of complaints from the public, police are worried that the increase is in part a result of cyclist behavior, such as running red lights. This isn’t the only cause of the accidents as motorists are responsible for many as well, but regardless, there is a problem and it needs to be addressed.

Over the last two years, the number of bicycle accidents has skyrocketed. Through October of this year, police have responded to 32 injury bike collisions – more than in all of 2007, when there were 24, and nearly as many as the 33 reported in 2008, Lt. J.J. Puglisi said.

Larry Dean Hughes, 62, was fatally injured in a Los Angeles car accident after a Ford Mustang struck him and left the scene of the crash. According to a City News Service report, the major injury pedestrian accident occurred at the intersection of Exposition Boulevard at Normandie Avenue in Los Angeles, the early morning of November 21, 2011. Joseph Quezada, 20, was killed in an Orange County car accident, which officials say, involved a hit-and-run driver. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the fatal crash occurred the evening of November 19, 2011 at the intersection of Cypress Street and Lambert Road in La Habra. Officials report the collision involved a white Toyota 4Runner, a black Nissan Xterra, a U-Haul truck, and a blue Hyundai Accent. The driver and passenger of the U-Haul, identified as 18-year-old Richard Ambriz and 19-year-old Dustin Lish, fled the scene of the collision, but were later arrested on suspicion of felony hit-and-run. Quezada, the driver of the Hyundai, was transported to an area hospital where he died from his injuries. Officials are still investigating the cause of the accident.

A 9-year-old boy was severely injured in a San Diego car accident after he was struck by a city trash truck while riding a skateboard in the North Park area. According to a news report in The San Diego Union-Tribune, the major injury collision occurred the morning of November 17, 2011 at the intersection of Kansas Street and Meade Avenue. Officials say the boy was riding his skateboard on the sidewalk and rode into the street when he was hit. The victim was hospitalized with several broken bones and internal injuries.
