Six people were injured in an Orange County car accident, which involved three vehicles. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the injury collision occurred on Seal Beach Boulevard and the 405 Freeway in Seal Beach, the evening of November 30, 2011. Officials say two of the vehicles appear to have collided head-on and may have been traveling at high rates of speed. Initial reports state that one of the two vehicles veered from its lane and struck a third.

Two SUVs – a Ford Explorer and Expedition – along with a pickup truck were involved in the crash. A family of four including two children and two other drivers were injured in the collision. Two people had to be extricated from a vehicle. The injured victims -three men, a woman, and two girls were transported to area hospitals, but it is not clear if the injuries were life-threatening. An investigation is ongoing.

A woman was injured in a Newport Beach car accident, which officials say, involved two vehicles. According to a news article in Corona Del Mar Today, the injury crash occurred the afternoon of November 22, 2011 at the intersection of East Coast Highway and Marguerite Avenue in Corona Del Mar. Newport Beach police report an SUV and a Volkswagen were involved in the collision. One woman was transported to Hoag Hospital with unknown injuries. An investigation is ongoing.

Joseph Quezada, 20, was killed in an Orange County car accident, which officials say, involved a hit-and-run driver. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the fatal crash occurred the evening of November 19, 2011 at the intersection of Cypress Street and Lambert Road in La Habra. Officials report the collision involved a white Toyota 4Runner, a black Nissan Xterra, a U-Haul truck, and a blue Hyundai Accent. The driver and passenger of the U-Haul, identified as 18-year-old Richard Ambriz and 19-year-old Dustin Lish, fled the scene of the collision, but were later arrested on suspicion of felony hit-and-run. Quezada, the driver of the Hyundai, was transported to an area hospital where he died from his injuries. Officials are still investigating the cause of the accident.

A 9-year-old boy was severely injured in a San Diego car accident after he was struck by a city trash truck while riding a skateboard in the North Park area. According to a news report in The San Diego Union-Tribune, the major injury collision occurred the morning of November 17, 2011 at the intersection of Kansas Street and Meade Avenue. Officials say the boy was riding his skateboard on the sidewalk and rode into the street when he was hit. The victim was hospitalized with several broken bones and internal injuries. Officials are still investigating the cause of this crash.

My heart goes out to the young victim of this traffic collision and his family for what they are going through at this time. Thankfully, the boy was wearing a helmet, and does not appear to have suffered any head injuries. I pray for this child’s speedy and complete recovery.
