Two people were injured in a Los Angeles car accident after a driver crashed his vehicle into a Norms restaurant. According to a City News Service report, the injury collision occurred at the Norms 24-hour diner at 470 North La Cienega Boulevard, during the early morning hours of November 17, 2011. A patron and a waiter suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The driver abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot. Officials say they found bottles of beer in the back seat and the floor of the abandoned silver Mercedes. Police have not released any information about the suspect. An investigation is ongoing.

Five people, including a 2-month-old baby, were injured in a Santa Ana car accident after two vehicles collided at a street intersection. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the injury crash occurred the morning of November 15, 2011 at the intersection of First and Euclid streets. Officials report a Nissan Altima carrying two women and two children that was traveling west on First Street collided with a Diamond Environmental Services septic truck, which was traveling south on Euclid Street.

Police say one of the vehicles ran a red light. Investigators are still reviewing the video from a red light cameras in the area to determine who was at fault. The two women in the Altima were transported to area hospitals with unknown injuries, while the infant was hospitalized with serious injuries. Another 2-year-old boy from the Nissan was treated at the scene. The male driver of the truck suffered possible broken ribs. An investigation is ongoing.

James McClain, 56, of Costa Mesa, was killed in a Newport Beach car accident after being hit by a car. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the fatal pedestrian accident occurred the night of November 11, 2011 on Irvine Avenue near Anniversary Lane in Newport Beach. Officials have not released information regarding how or why the fatal collision occurred. McClain was pronounced dead during the early morning hours of November 12, 2011 at a nearby hospital.

Ozenia Brown, 79, was killed in a Los Angeles car accident after she was struck by a van while walking in a marked crosswalk. According to a news report in the Los Angeles Times, the fatal pedestrian accident occurred the evening of November 10, 2011 at the intersection of 110th Street and Western Avenue in South Los Angeles. Officials say the driver of the Chevrolet van, 70-year-old James Willie Douglas, failed to yield the right of way to Brown, who was in a crosswalk. Douglas was uninjured. Brown was pronounced dead at the scene. No charged have been filed against Douglas. An investigation is ongoing.

Gary De La Rosa, 40, was fatally injured in a Costa Mesa car accident after he was hit by a vehicle while crossing the roadway. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the fatal pedestrian crash occurred near the intersection of Harbor Boulevard and Bay Street, early morning on November 11, 2011. Costa Mesa police say De La Rosa was walking and pushing an empty wheelchair on Harbor Boulevard south of Bay Street, when a southbound Jaguar struck him. De La Rosa died at the scene. Two drivers in Riverside California died after a big-rig truck accident on Route 79. At 10 a.m. between San Jacinto and Perris California, a Dodge Ram pickup truck towing a motor home lost control and veered onto traffic, colliding head on with a big-rig truck that was transporting animal feed. The impact caused both truck drivers serious injuries and they were not able to survive. Both were over the age of 70.

Darwin Almeida, 3, was killed in a Santa Ana car accident, which officials say was caused by a suspected drunk driver who also left the scene of the crash. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the fatal pedestrian accident occurred the evening of November 9, 2011 at the intersection of Fifth and North Bewley streets. Darwin’s mother was walking in an unmarked crosswalk carrying her 1-year-old daughter and holding Darwin by the hand. At the time, an SUV pulled out of a nearby parking lot at a high rate of speed. The vehicle struck the boy, pulling him underneath the vehicle. The woman and the baby were lifted onto the hood of the vehicle before being thrown off. The driver of the SUV fled the scene.

According to a City News report, the injury collision occurred in the area of Harbor Boulevard and East Valley View Drive in Fullerton, the early morning of November 9, 2011. Officials found the victim lying on the roadway. He was transported to an area trauma center with head and leg injuries. Police say the man’s injuries are consistent with a hit-and-run. Two 14-year-old female students were severely injured in a Covina car accident after they were hit by a vehicle while walking in a crosswalk. According to a news report in The San Gabriel Valley Tribune, the injury crash occurred the morning of November 7, 2011 at the intersection of Lark Ellen Avenue and Tudor Street.

California Highway Patrol officials say the girls, both possibly students at Gladstone High School, were walking in a crosswalk at the intersection when they were struck by a woman in her 30s, who was driving a Honda Civic south on Lark Ellen Avenue. The two girls suffered major head injuries and blunt force trauma to other parts of their bodies. They were airlifted to a regional hospital in serious condition. It is unclear at this time if the driver will be charged or cited. An investigation is ongoing.

Esther F. Kumasaka, 82, was killed in a Huntington Beach car accident, which officials say, involved two vehicles. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the fatal car accident occurred the morning of November 5, 2011 at the intersection of Bushard Street and Adams Avenue. Police report Kumasaka was a passenger in one of the vehicles. The driver of the vehicle in which Kumasaka was a passenger was also injured, but the extent of his injuries is not known. Officials are still investigating the cause of this two-vehicle crash.
