Veronica Castro, 26, was injured in a Los Angeles car accident after another vehicle struck her Ford Mustang at a street intersection. According to a report in the Los Angeles Daily News, the injury collision occurred at the intersection of Burbank Boulevard and De Soto Avenue, in Woodland Hills, on September 22, 2011. Officials say Castro was driving southbound on De Soto Avenue and turning left onto Burbank Boulevard, when a northbound Honda struck the rear of her car. The impact sheared the Mustang in two. Castro was injured, as was the driver of the Honda. They were both transported to an area hospital, and are expected to survive.

Carl Scaffide, 65, of Huntington Beach, was killed in an Orange County car accident after he was struck while walking near a major intersection. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the fatal pedestrian collision occurred near the intersection of Beach Boulevard and McFadden Avenue in Westminster, the early morning of September 21, 2011. Scaffide was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle was uninjured. Officials do not believe alcohol was a factor. An investigation is ongoing.

Raul Quintanilla, 72, was fatally injured in a Los Angeles car accident, which officials say involved a hit-and-run driver. According to a KTLA News report, the fatal pedestrian accident occurred early morning on September 20, 2011 on Santa Gertrudes Street, near Imperial Highway, in La Mirada. Officials say Quintanilla was struck by a Chevy Malibu and dismembered. The driver of the Chevy left the horrific scene without stopping or calling authorities. The car was found abandoned a couple of blocks from the scene. Geoffrey Rocha, 18, turned himself in to authorities about 12 hours after the crash. An investigation is ongoing.

Two people were injured in an Anaheim car accident after a two-car collision at a street intersection, the morning of September 19, 2011. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the injury collision occurred at the intersection of Magnolia and Greenbrier avenues. Officials say that a male driver of an Acura Legend that was southbound on Magnolia attempted to make a left turn onto Greenbrier when the vehicle collided head-on with a northbound Mazda MPV. Two persons suffered injuries here and were hospitalized. The extent of their injuries is not yet known as the investigation continues.

According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the fatal rollover crash occurred early morning on September 18, 2011 on the 241 toll road, near Portola Parkway, in Lake Forest.

A 41-year-old man was seriously injured in a Santa Ana car accident after he was struck by a vehicle while crossing an intersection. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the major injury collision occurred the morning of September 16, 2011 at the intersection of West McFadden Street and South Bristol Avenue. Police say the man was walking across McFadden at Bristol when he was hit by a Ford van. He suffered serious head injuries and was transported to an area hospital. The 45-year-old driver remained at the scene. Anyone who witnessed this incident is asked to contact police at 714-245-8701.

An Orange County car accident involving a Chevrolet Trailblazer, an Audi, a Honda Accord and a Kawasaki motorcycle resulted in injuries to the motorcyclist and a passenger in the Trailblazer. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the motorcycle accident occurred on westbound 91 Freeway, near North Lakeview Avenue, in Anaheim, the morning of September 14, 2011. It is unclear from the report as to what may have caused the multiple vehicle collision. The two injured victims of the crash were transported to the hospital by ambulance. An investigation is ongoing.

Maria Arreola, 60, was killed in a Los Angeles car accident, which police report, involved a drunk driver. According to the Los Angeles Daily News, the fatal DUI crash occurred at the intersection of Slauson and Normandie avenues in Los Angeles’ Chesterfield Square, the morning of September 13, 2011. Officials say a driver, identified as 23-year-old Danilo Hernandez, ran a red light at the intersection before striking another car driven by a man. Arreola, who was pronounced dead at the site of the collision, was a passenger in one of the vehicles. The male driver whose car was hit has also been injured but is expected to survive. Hernandez was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and vehicular manslaughter.

Rodolfo De Los Santos, 54, was seriously injured in a Ventura car accident, which officials say, was caused by a driver who was under the influence of drugs. According to a news report in The Ventura County Star, the injury collision occurred the afternoon of September 11, 2011 on Highway 126, near Sespe Creek, in Fillmore.

California Highway Patrol officials say De Los Santos was riding his motorcycle east on Highway 126 when a vehicle that was going the wrong way on the highway struck him. De Los Santos was thrown off his motorcycle and suffered a broken leg, road rash and abrasions. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The wrong way driver, identified as 70-year-old Alicia Gonzalez, has been booked on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs.
