According to a news report in The Press Enterprise, the hit-and-run car accident occurred on Locust Avenue, near Foothill Boulevard, in Fontana. The authorities responded to reports of a truck with a broken windshield driving erratically. Official subsequently found the victim on the roadway, suffering from head trauma. They were also able to track down and arrest the driver responsible for striking the bicyclist. The report does not specify why the motorist was driving erratically. The truck driver currently faces charges of felony hit-and-run. An investigation is ongoing.

Fullerton Car Accident Leaves Two Students Injured
Two Fullerton Union High School students were injured in an Orange County car accident after two vehicles collided and careened into them as they crossed the street. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the pedestrian accident occurred near the intersection of Pomona and Chapman avenues in Fullerton, the morning of September 8, 2011. The two cars struck each other at the intersection and one or both of them hit the two students who were walking to their school. The young victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Los Angeles Hit-and-Run Car Accident Seriously Injures Teenager
A 17-year-old boy has been severely injured in a Los Angeles car accident, which officials say, involved a hit-and-run driver. According to a City News Service report, the injury collision occurred the night of September 5, 2011, when the boy was struck while walking across the intersection of Ventura Boulevard and Lemona Avenue in Encino. Police say the driver slowed down to less than 5 mph and then sped east on Ventura Boulevard toward Van Nuys Boulevard.
Officials describe the vehicle as a white Dodge Caravan with a partial license plate of 6RQ and the driver as a white male, 6 feet tall weighing 170 to 200 pounds. Anaheim Car Accident Injures Pedestrian in Crosswalk
A woman was injured in an Orange County car accident after she was hit by a vehicle, while walking in a marked crosswalk. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the pedestrian accident occurred at the intersection of Crone Avenue and Loara Street in Anaheim, the morning of September 6, 2011. The woman was crossing the road when a Toyota Corolla making a left turn struck her. The woman was taken to UCI Medical Center with unknown injuries. The driver told officials that the rising sun had temporarily blinded her. It is not clear if the driver of the Toyota will face charges.

A 44-year-old man was killed in a Los Angeles car accident involving a teenage driver, who officials say, may have been under the influence of alcohol. According to a report in the Los Angeles Daily News, the fatal DUI collision occurred on the southbound 110 Freeway, near Vernon Avenue, on September 4, 2011. The victim was with two other men on the shoulder of the freeway trying to repair a stalled Chevrolet Monte Carlo, when the 18-year-old driver of a Smart car crashed into the Chevrolet, forcing it into the three men.

Four Construction Workers Injured in San Francisco Roof Collapse
Four men suffered serious job injuries in a San Francisco construction accident involving a roof collapse, the morning of August 31, 2011. According to a news report in The San Francisco Chronicle, the construction accident occurred at an apartment building being constructed in the 2200 block of Third Street, close to 19th Street. The four employees of Nibbi Brothers General Contractors were doing a concrete pour when the roof collapsed over a stairwell. The workers fell a couple of floors and were also covered in wet concrete. One of the workers, 22-year-old Justin Castro, suffered a broken leg, a broken pelvis and dislocated arm. Another injured worker was identified as 29-year-old Mauricio Hernandez. Cal/OSHA investigators are looking into the cause of this construction site collapse.

Motorcyclist Injured in Santa Ana Car Accident
A man was injured in a Santa Ana car accident involving a collision between a Harley-Davidson and a white Honda Accord, the morning of August 30, 2011. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the motorcycle accident occurred on North Bristol Street, near Memory Lane, in Santa Ana. The motorcyclist was northbound on Bristol Street when a Honda exiting an apartment complex struck the Harley. The rider was injured and transported to a local hospital. Three Injured in San Diego Pit Bull Attack
David Powell, his daughter and another 6-year-old girl were injured in a San Diego dog bite incident involving a pit bull. According to a 10News report, the dog attack occurred the morning of August 28, 2011 on Auburn Drive, near Euclid Avenue, in the City Heights area. Powell is not the owner of the dog but he was taking care of it at the time of the attack. The dog escaped its chain, jumped a low fence, and attacked the two 6-year-old girls. One of the girls required stitches because of multiple cuts to her face, arms and fingers. The other girl sustained a bite to the neck, while David Powell was bitten on his hand. Officials are investigating the incident.

Elderly Pedestrian Killed in Los Angeles Hit-and-Run Car Accident
Patrick John McIlroy, 70, of Sun Valley, was killed in a Los Angeles car accident, which officials say, involved a hit-and-run driver. According to a CBS News report, the fatal pedestrian accident occurred early morning on August 28, 2011 near the intersection of Saticoy Street near Atoll Avenue. Police say a white, four-door sedan was traveling west on Saticoy when it struck the man. The driver did not stop.
McIlroy died at the scene. The hit-and-run suspect, identified as 21-year-old Alicia Carolina Benites, turned herself to the West Valley police station more than eight hours after the crash. Benites is facing felony hit-and-run charges. An investigation is ongoing.
