A 28-year-old man was killed in an Anaheim car accident, which officials say, involved a drunk driver, early morning on July 17, 2011. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the fatal DUI collision occurred on the southbound 5 Freeway, near Disneyland Drive, in Anaheim. A 28-year-old female driver of a 2002 GMC pickup changed lanes and struck the back of a 1995 Mercury Villager. The GMC then veered out of control, onto a steep embankment and rolled over several times. A male passenger in the GMC was killed and the driver suffered major injuries. She was later arrested on suspicion of drunk driving.

Orange County Motorcycle Accident Causes Major Injuries
Thomas Michael Skelly, 35, was severely injured in a Costa Mesa car accident involving a collision between a motorcycle and a Jeep Cherokee. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the motorcycle accident occurred in the 1600 block of Superior Avenue in Costa Mesa, the night of July 15, 2011. Skelly was travelling southbound when the driver of the Jeep that was heading north turned left. The Jeep pulled ahead of Skelly’s motorcycle and the vehicles collided head-on. Skelly suffered serious injuries in the collision and was transported to an area trauma center. Investigators are searching for witnesses to the crash. An investigation is ongoing.

Infant Critically Injured in Los Angeles Car Accident
A 2-month old boy suffered life-threatening injuries in a Los Angeles car accident after he was struck by a vehicle on July 14, 2011. According to a news report in the Los Angeles Times, the major injury collision occurred on Spring Street in downtown Los Angeles, when the driver of a Cadillac DeVille was attempting to park near 4th and Spring streets. Officials say the driver hit the gas pedal instead of the brake. The car jumped the curb and struck a stroller with the infant inside. The baby was transported to an area hospital. The child’s mother was not injured. An investigation is ongoing.

Three Injured Los Angeles DUI Collision
Three people were injured in a Los Angeles car accident, which officials say, was caused by a drunk driver, the night of July 13, 2011. According to a City News Service report, the injury crash occurred at the intersection of Victory Boulevard and Wilkinson Avenue in the Valley Glen area of Los Angeles. The crash involved a taxicab and two other vehicles. Three people including the suspect were transported to a local hospital with injuries, but they are all expected to survive. Police arrested one man on suspicion of driving under the influence a day after the crash.

Bicyclist Injured in Orange County Hit-And-Run Car Accident
Sabino Ramirez, 46, was injured in an Orange County auto accident involving a hit-and-run driver, the night of July 11, 2011. According to a City News Service report, the hit-and-run crash occurred near the Euclid Street off ramp of the 91 Freeway in Fullerton. Ramirez was riding his bicycle when a burgundy or purple Jeep or Toyota SUV struck him. He sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Officials are looking for the hit-and-run suspect. Pit Bull Bites Man and Police Officer in Montclair
Jesus Martinez, 57, and a police officer were both injured in two separate dog bite incidents involving the same aggressive pit bull. According to a news report in The Press-Enterprise, the dog attacks occurred near State Street in Montclair, the morning of July 9, 2011. Martinez was out walking his dogs when a pit bull attacked him and bit both his arms. A couple of police officers tracked down the dog. The pit bull attacked the officers as well. One of the officers suffered bites to his left hand and his left thigh. The second officer fatally shot the pit bull during the attack. Martinez was treated at the scene of the incident and the officer was treated at a nearby hospital. It is not clear who owned the pit bull.

Hit-and-Run Car Accident in Los Angeles Causes Major Injuries
A man in his 50s was seriously injured in a Los Angeles car accident involving a hit-and-run driver. According to an ABC 7 news report, the hit-and-run crash occurred the night of July 8, 2011 on South Santa Fe Avenue in Huntington Park. Officials have not released the name of the victim or how the crash occurred. The report does state that the man suffered serious injuries when the car struck him. Police are looking for the suspect vehicle that may have damage to its right front headlight and turn signal.

The past few years have been overrun with products liability cases, but few are getting the type of exposure that they deserve; manufacturers of defective medical products are flying under the radar, at least to those who have not been affected by their dangerous goods. Motorcycle Officer Injured in Anaheim Car Accident
A motorcycle officer was injured in an Anaheim car accident after he was struck by a car that was making a left turn at an intersection. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the injury collision occurred at the intersection of Harbor Boulevard and Lincoln Avenue the afternoon of July 7, 2011. Officials say the police officer’s motorcycle was northbound on Harbor when it was hit by a 2004 Chevrolet Impala that was turning left from Harbor onto Lincoln. The officer was hospitalized with injuries, but he is expected to survive. Police investigators are looking into which vehicle had the right-of-way at the time.

Pedestrian Critically Injured in Orange County Car Accident
A man suffered critical injuries in a Westminster car accident after he was struck by a vehicle. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the major injury collision occurred the night of July 5, 2011 in the 6700 block of Garden Grove Boulevard. Officials say the man got out of his pickup truck to retrieve a cardboard box when he was struck by a pickup in the number two eastbound lane. The victim was transported to a local trauma center with a skull fracture and a broken leg. An investigation is ongoing.
