A 23-year-old man was seriously injured in an Orange County car accident after officials say he was struck by a drunk driver. According to a City News Service report, the pedestrian accident occurred on Pacific Coast Highway, near the Aliso Beach entrance, in Laguna Beach, the night of July 4, 2011. The victim sustained serious injuries and was transported to an area trauma center for treatment. Police arrested the driver, 31-year-old Michael David of Los Angeles, on suspicion of felony drunk driving. David was previously convicted of DUI in 2005.

A woman was critically injured in an Orange County car accident after her vehicle crashed into a stopped SUV whose driver, officials say, was under the influence. According to a City News Service report, the major injury collision occurred early morning on July 1, 2011 on the northbound 55 Freeway in Orange near Chapman Avenue. California Highway Patrol officials say a Toyota 4Runner was stopped on the freeway for unknown reasons when the woman’s older model Chevy pickup truck slammed into it. The woman was transported to an area trauma center in critical condition. The man in the SUV sustained relatively minor injuries and was arrested later on suspicion of drunk driving.

Richard Flores, 24, was killed in a Riverside car accident when he was hit by a vehicle while applying street markings. According to a news report in The Press-Enterprise, the fatal pedestrian accident occurred along Valle Avenue, near Sixth Street, in Beaumont on June 28, 2011. Flores was working for the Beaumont-Cherry Valley Water District. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The driver of the truck was hospitalized for a reportedly unrelated condition. Manuel Cadena, 64, was killed in a Victorville car accident, which officials say, involved a hit-and-run driver. According to a news report in The San Bernardino County Sun, the fatal pedestrian accident occurred on Palmdale Road, near Borego Road, the night of June 26, 2011. The driver left the scene.

Officials found Cadena lying on the roadway and transported him to a local hospital where he died. Eyewitnesses have described the hit-and-run vehicle as a dark green or black SUV, possibly a Toyota. A wheelchair-bound pedestrian was fatally injured in a San Diego car accident after being hit by a van while in a crosswalk, the night of June 25, 2011. According to a news report in The San Diego Union-Tribune, the fatal pedestrian accident occurred at the intersection of Midway Drive, Point Loma Boulevard and Sports Arena Boulevard in the Midway District, when a van from Sam Kholi Ministries struck and killed the man in the wheelchair. The article states Sam Kholi Ministries runs a payroll company and a trucking company called Jesus Christ is Lord Travel Center. Macaia Miller, 19, was critically injured in a Los Angeles car accident involving a hit-and-run driver. According to a City News Service report, the serious injury pedestrian accident occurred on East J Street in Lancaster, the night of June 20, 2011. Miller was crossing the road when a maroon or dark red four-door sedan struck her. Witnesses say that the driver made no attempt to stop. Miller was taken to a nearby hospital where she has been listed in critical condition.
