At least one person was injured in a Riverside car accident involving three vehicles, which officials say, was caused by a tire blowout. According to a news report in The Desert Sun, the injury car accident involved a big rig, a small car and a pickup truck. California Highway Patrol officials say the accident occurred the afternoon of March 3, 2011 on the 10 Freeway near the Monterey Avenue exit in Thousand Palms. One person was transported to a local hospital with moderate injuries. At least one other person had to be extricated from a vehicle, but it does not appear that the individual was injured. Given the nature of this car accident, it is indeed fortunate that no one was catastrophically injured or killed. I wish the injured victim the very best for a speedy and complete recovery.
