Aubree Hardy, 5, and her parents Rachel Miller, 27, and Aaron Hardy, 25, died after the minivan in which they were traveling in was struck from behind by a semi-truck, pushing it into the trailer of another big rig. According to a news report in the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin, the minivan was stopped for traffic on the 10 Freeway in Ontario on the morning of June 16th. Four Killed After SUV Plummets Down a Northern California Bridge
Four people died on the night of Jan. 16th after the SUV in which they were traveling veered off a bridge east of San Francisco. According to a news report in the Daily Mail, the vehicle went out of control, veered across all lanes of traffic, collided with a concrete barrier of the bridge and then plummeted 200 feet as it fell over the edge and struck a stationary freight train. All four occupants – Perla Navarro, Kyle Erickson, both 19, and Christopher Mata, 21, and Cecilia Ayala, 22 – were killed. Woman Killed in Riverside Car Accident
Vicki Gonzales, 63, was killed in a Riverside car accident, in which two others were also seriously injured. According to a report in The Press Enterprise, the crash occurred on the afternoon of June 13th at the intersection of Arlington and Magnolia avenues. Fatal Ventura County Car Accident Involved Suspected DUI Driver
A 41-year-old Oxnard woman was killed and a 14-year-old boy was severely injured in a car accident, which officials said, was caused by a woman who was driving under the influence. According to a KTLA news report, the crash took place on the morning of June 6th at the intersection of Rice Avenue and Channel Islands Boulevard. Police say a 2017 Nissan Rogue was stopped at a red traffic signal along northbound Rice Avenue just before the wreck. A 14-year-old boy was driving it with a 41-year-old woman riding as a passenger. Eight Injured in South LA After Tow Truck Driver Runs Red Light
Investigators say a tow truck driver ran a red light at a South Los Angeles intersection and caused a violent, multi-vehicle wreck, which left eight people injured including two LAPD officers one of whom had to be rescued from his patrol car using the Jaws of Life. According to a CBS Los Angeles news report, the rescued officer and the tow truck driver were transported to local hospitals in critical condition. Toddler Nearly Drowns in San Bernardino After Falling into Swimming Pool
A 2-year-old girl fell into a swimming pool in the backyard of a San Bernardino home the evening of May 27th. According to a news report in the San Bernardino Sun, the incident occurred at a home in the 1700 block of Pershing Avenue. Paramedics who arrived at the scene rushed the child to a nearby hospital where she remained in critical condition. There was no other information about the girl’s health or details about how she wound up in the water. Woman Killed in Irvine Bicycle Accident
A 70-year-old woman was killed in a bicycle accident in Irvine after a vehicle struck her. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the fatal collision between the bicycle and a Mercedes Benz occurred on the morning of May 25th near the intersection of Portola Parkway and the 261 toll road. The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The driver of the Mercedes remained at the scene and cooperated with the police investigation.
