A woman identified as 45-year-old Aubrye Foote was struck and killed by a vehicle as she tried to help a bicyclist whom she fatally struck. According to a report in The Orange County Register, Foote was driving an SUV when she struck the bicyclist on San Joaquin Hills Road west of Newport Ridge Drive. Austin Daniel Vargas Rodes, 26, of Northridge, was killed in a motorcycle accident after crashing with a vehicle in Chatsworth on March 10. According to the Los Angeles Daily News, the crash occurred at the intersection of Devonshire Street and Mason Avenue. A bicyclist was hospitalized in critical condition the morning of March 3 after he suffered major injuries in a Garden Grove car accident involving a suspected hit and run driver. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the incident occurred at the intersection of Orangewood Avenue and Euclid Street on the night of March 2 and found the bicyclist with major head trauma. Enrique Ramirez Sanchez, 49, a tow truck driver, suffered serious injuries after he was struck by a speeding driver while responding to a car accident outside Beaumont, officials said. According to a KTLA news report, Sanchez was called to the scene of a solo crash on Highway 79 the morning of Feb. 23. The driver of the overturned car was not hurt. A charter bus on the rain-slicked 15 Freeway in San Diego County rolled down an embankment near Fallbrook the morning of Feb. 22, killing three people, leaving a 5-year-old in critical condition and injuring 17 others. According to an NBC news report, the bus was carrying 21 passengers. Eighteen were thrown from the bus, scattered throughout the area, and one of the dead passengers was trapped under the vehicle after it landed on its roof. California Highway Patrol officials said the charter bus lost control and went over the side of the road. No other vehicles seemed to be involved, officials said. Continue reading →
A hit-and-run driver has been arrested after 48-year-old Patricia Ann O’Donnell was struck and killed by the vehicle early morning of Feb. 13. According to a KTLA news report, the crash occurred near the intersection of Pershing Drive and Campdell Street. Rod Richardson whose 48-year-old wife Brenda Jean Richardson was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver the night of Feb. 5 in Corona, tracked down the driver, leading to the person’s arrest. According to an NBC news report, Brenda Richardson was struck and killed near the corner of Kalus Avenue and River Road. The driver fled the scene.
