Motorcyclist Killed in Huntington Beach Crash
A 31-year-man was killed in a Huntington Beach motorcycle accident involving a collision with a pickup truck. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the fatal crash occurred the evening of Sept. 25 at the intersection of Slater Avenue and Morgan Lane. A 2014 Chevy Silverado pickup truck had severe damage to its left rear side and axle and a 2008 red Ducati motorcycle had been crumpled under the truck’s left rear tire. Crossing Guard Killed in San Fernando Valley Pedestrian Accident
Delia Huerta Arrearan, a 57-year-old crossing guard who has worked for the city’s Department of Transportation since, 2006, was struck and killed in a pedestrian accident that also left a 16-year-old girl injured in the San Fernando Valley’s Glen neighborhood. Lilia Garcia, 41, was killed in a hit-and-run crash after a driver struck her near a street intersection in the Apple Valley area in San Bernardino County. According to a KTLA news report, the crash occurred early morning on Sept. 15 along Crown Valley Road just south of Soledad Canyon Road. A 65-year-old man was in grave condition after he was struck by a hit-and-run driver in South Los Angeles. According to a KABC news report, the crash occurred the night of Sept. 9 at Century Boulevard near Main Street. Los Angeles police said a vehicle was traveling westbound on Century Boulevard and hit the man. The driver left the scene and remains at large. An 88-year-old woman has died from injuries she sustained more than a week ago in a two-vehicle car accident in Huntington Beach. According to a news report in the Los Angeles Times, the woman had been transported to a local hospital after complaining of neck and back pain. The incident occurred the afternoon of Aug. 24. Police have arrested a 23-year-old man in connection with a hit-and-run crash in Boyle Heights that left a bicyclist severely injured. According to a CBS Los Angeles news report, tips from the public led to the arrest of Luis Raya-Flores who police say struck and injured a bicyclist and fled the scene. Shannon McDonald, 43, a Los Angeles Commissioner and long-time Lancaster resident, was killed in a suspected DUI crash. According to a Fox11 news report, the crash occurred near 40th Street West and Avenue L in Lancaster. Police say McDonald was driving a Chevy Suburban SUV when a suspected drunk driver in a pickup truck attempted to turn left and crashed into the SUV.
