Pedestrian Killed in Orange DUI Crash
A 39-year-old man was killed in an Orange pedestrian accident the evening of Aug. 18 after he was struck by a driver who officials say was under the influence. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, officials say Erin Meacham, 50, was driving north on Glassell Street when her vehicle struck the man. The man was reportedly crossing the street outside of a crosswalk near Quincy Avenue. The man died at the scene before he could be transferred to an area hospital. Meacham did not flee the scene. Pedestrian Killed in Downtown Los Angeles Hit and Run Crash
A 78-year-old man identified as Byung Gyu Yu was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Downtown Los Angeles early morning on Aug. 10. According to a KABC news report, the collision was captured on surveillance video. LAPD responded to the call near Third Street and Union Avenue. They said Yu was crossing the street when an SUV struck him and fled the scene. Yu died from his injuries. Officials said the man lived at the nearby senior living facility. Continue reading →
Man Killed in Lancaster Hit and Run Car Accident
Rodney Richard, 22, was killed in a Lancaster hit and run crash early morning on Aug. 4. According to a KTLA news report, the incident occurred at the intersection of Lancaster Boulevard near Elm Avenue. Police said Richard was talking to the occupants of a black sedan parked by the curb when an eastbound full-size white truck, believed to be a Chevrolet or Dodge, struck him. Man Fatally Injured in Fullerton Motorcycle Accident
Elbin Rodriguez Morales, 28, was killed in a Fullerton motorcycle accident the night of July 28. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, Morales was struck by a car that was leaving a shopping center in North Fullerton. Police responded to the area at the intersection of Harbor Boulevard and Imperial Highway after reports of the collision. When officers arrived, they found Morales lying in the northbound lanes of Harbor Boulevard with life-threatening injuries. He was transported to a local trauma center where he was pronounced dead. Road Rage Leads to Series of Crashes Injuring Four People in Santa Ana
A man was arrested after a series of car accidents in Santa Ana, which ended with four people injured the morning of July 11. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the incident began at the intersection of First and Fairview streets when a Nissan Cube and a Honda sedan both ran a red light possibly triggered by road rage. Several Pedestrians Injured in Bellflower Car Accident
At least five people were injured in a car accident early morning on July 13 after being struck by a vehicle in Bellflower. According to KTLA news report, the crash occurred near the intersection of Woodruff Avenue and Foster Road at about 2 a.m. Five people were sent to the hospital of which three are said to be in critical condition. Two others sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Boy Dies in La Habra Heights Swimming Pool Accident
A 7-year-old Fullerton boy died after he drowned in a La Habra Heights swimming pool late the night of July 9. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, Levi Hardy was pronounced dead early morning July 10 at a Fullerton hospital. Police say the boy along with his father and siblings were visiting friends in the 1200 block of Mayapan Road in La Habra Heights. Officials said Levi couldn’t swim, but was wearing the life jacket. Woman Critically Injured in Palm Springs Dog Attack
Lauren Musick, a resident of Palm Springs, is in critical condition after a dog attack in Palm Springs. KESQ reports that Musick was attacked and bitten by her own dog, a pit bull, in her home the evening of July 2. When police arrived at the scene after neighbors reported a dangerous dog, they found the pit bull mauling its owner. An officer entered the apartment and stopped the attack by using his taser on the dog. The pit bull then continued to attack officers and others. Teenager Critically Injured in Fullerton Pedestrian Accident
A teenage boy was struck and critically injured in a Fullerton pedestrian accident while crossing the street. According to a news report in Patch.com, the major injury collision occurred in the early morning hours of June 29 in the 900 block of North Placentia Avenue. The boy was transported to an area hospital with major injuries. Police say preliminary investigations show a black 2017 Nissan Sentra driven by a 45-year-old woman was going south on Placentia just north of Nutwood Avenue when it struck the pedestrian who was crossing eastbound on Placentia Avenue outside a crosswalk.
