Officials Looking for Hit and Run Suspect in Fatal Orange County Freeway Crash
California Highway Patrol officials are searching for the driver of a white sedan who they say fled a car accident scene on the 405 Freeway in Santa Ana that left two people dead Jan. 5. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the fatal crash occurred the night of Jan. 5 on the northbound 405 Freeway just north of Harbor Boulevard. Officials say a silver Audi, which was traveling at a high rate of speed, made a lane change and collided with a Dodge Challenger before crashing into the center divider. Continue reading →
Man Killed in Costa Mesa Pedestrian Accident
A man was struck and killed in a pedestrian accident in Costa Mesa early morning on Jan. 2, 2018. According to a City News Service report, the fatal collision was reported about midnight on Newport Boulevard between 17th and 18th streets. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said he was crossing the street outside the crosswalk when he was struck. The driver of the vehicle and witnesses remained at the scene and were helping police with the investigation. College Student Suffers Brain Injury After Redondo Beach DUI Collision
Ashley Elizabeth Murray, a 21-year-old college student, remained hospitalized in critical condition after a suspected drunk driver crashed into the Uber vehicle in which she was traveling in Redondo Beach. According to a KTLA news report, Murray had spent the evening out with friends and was heading home with a male companion early morning on Dec. 22 when a driver ran a red light at the intersection of Artesia Boulevard and Aviation Way and slammed into the Uber vehicle. Three Baldwin Park women were killed after a wrong-way driver crashed into their vehicle on the 210 Freeway early morning on Dec. 17. Five Seriously Injured in Los Angeles Crash Involving Road Rage
Five people including three teens suffered severe injuries in a hit-and-run crash stemming from road rage, and police are looking for the driver. According to a KTLA news report, one of the victims suffered critical injuries. The crash occurred the night of December 6, 2017, when one car cut off another at the intersection of Tica Drive and Los Feliz Boulevard. Fatal Santa Ana Motorcycle Accident
Nicklaus Carothers, 26, was killed in a motorcycle accident after a left-turning taxicab struck him at a street intersection in Santa Ana. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the incident occurred the evening of November 30, 2017. Police said the taxicab was northbound on Bristol Street and was turning left onto Santa Clara Avenue when it collided with the southbound motorcycle. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with police. Officials do not suspect that the driver of the taxi was under the influence. One Dead Five Injured in Diamond Bar Hit-and-Run Crash
One man was killed and five others including two children were injured in an early morning car accident on November 26, 2017. According to a KTLA news report, the fatal car accident occurred near the 57 and 60 freeway interchange. California Highway Patrol officials said at least three vehicles were involved in the collision and that the driver of a dark-colored Honda CRV abandoned his car on the freeway and fled on foot. Man and Woman Injured in Oakland Dog Attack
Two people, a man and a woman, were injured in a dog bite incident after they were assailed by two pit bulls in Oakland. According to a news report in the East Bay Times, the dog attack occurred the morning of November 17, 2017 in the 2600 block of 63rd Avenue near Bancroft Avenue. The woman, 53 and man, 71, suffered deep puncture wounds including to their faces and heads. Both were transported to an area hospital were said to be in stable condition. Continue reading →
