Toddler Critically Injured After Tree Limb Falls on Pasadena Playground
At least three children were injured, one critically, after a large eucalyptus tree limb crashed onto a daycare facility’s playground in Pasadena. According to a news report in the Los Angeles Times, the incident occurred the afternoon of August 29, 2017. Pasadena fire officials said more than a dozen children were playing outside at Linda Vista Children’s Center when the tree limb fell. A 2-year-old girl suffered critical injuries and was transported to an area hospital. Two other children, 3 and 4, were also treated for non-life-threatening injuries caused by the 20-foot fallen tree limb.
Parents were notified of the incident. Social workers were also present in case any children showed signs of emotional distress. A 3-year-old girl was transported to a hospital after falling into a hot tub at an Aliso Viejo home. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, firefighters responded to reports of a child underwater at a residence on Alisal Court the afternoon of August 26, 2017. A 39-year-old driver has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run accident, which resulted in the death of 48-year-old Juan Ramirez Garcia who was jogging along the road next to Mile Square Park in Fountain Valley. Motorcyclist Killed in Santa Ana Car Accident
David Rorex, 34, was killed in a Santa Ana motorcycle accident after an SUV struck him while pulling out of a driveway. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the incident occurred the morning of August 18, 2017 in the 4800 block of West First Street. The SUV was pulling out of a residential driveway. The motorcycle was heading west on First Street when it broadsided the SUV as it was coming out of the driveway. Rorex was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the SUV remained at the scene. Police do not believe alcohol or drugs were involved. No citations or arrests were reported.
