Officials are searching for a hit-and-run driver who they say struck and killed a motorcyclist in Reseda on August 24, 2016. According to an NBC Los Angeles news report, the fatal collision occurred at the intersection of Vanowen Street and Tampa Avenue. Police say the driver of a truck was making a left turn onto Vanowen and failed to yield to the oncoming motorcyclist.

The truck driver left after the crash heading west on Vanowen. The motorcyclist, a man in his late teens or early 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities are looking for the driver of a white stake bed truck with significant damage on the passenger side of the vehicle. The city is offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the hit-and-run driver. Anyone with information is asked to call LAPD at 818-644-8000.

Patricia Ledezma, 34, and her two daughters, Stephanie, 8, and Dayana, 4, were all killed in a Placentia pedestrian accident the night of August 20, 2016. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the mother and daughters were walking home after a party when they were mowed down by a car in the 800 block of West La Jolla Street.

Police found the driver, 27-year-old Nicholas Stephen Munoz, standing next to the car. He was booked on suspicion of murder and driving under the influence. Witnesses told police that Munoz was speeding as well. Neighbors told the Register that the street where this particular accident occurred needs stop signs and crosswalks. Drivers sped through this street often and posed a danger to children and adults.

A 43-year-old woman was fatally injured in a Santa Ana pedestrian accident, which officials say, involved a hit-and-run driver. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the fatal accident occurred just after midnight on August 17, 2016 near the intersection of South Bristol Street and Warner Avenue. Witnesses told police they saw a silver SUV or minivan hit the woman.

Witnesses said the driver did not stop, slow down or check on the victim. The vehicle was northbound on Bristol and then turned west on Warner at a high rate of speed, they said. Police said had the driver stuck around he or she may not have faced charges since the pedestrian seemed to have been walking outside a crosswalk at the time. However, since the driver left the scene, he or she is looking at vehicular manslaughter charges. Enrique Alvarado-Cervantes, 26, died in a motorcycle accident in Azusa after a pickup truck rear-ended him on the 210 Freeway just west of Vernon Avenue. According to a news report in The San Gabriel Valley Tribune, Alvarado-Cervantes was riding a 2000 Suzuki GSX-R in the fast lane when traffic ahead came to a sudden stop. A 71-year-old man was driving directly behind the motorcycle in a 2000 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup truck was unable to stop in time to avoid a collision.

The Dodge slammed into the motorcycle and a Ford pickup truck that was ahead ejecting the motorcyclist onto the roadway. The force of the collision pushed the Ford into a Lexus that was ahead as well. Alvarado-Cervantes was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Dodge pickup suffered injuries including a broken wrist. The Ford’s driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries and the driver of the Lexus escaped injury. No arrests or citations were reported pending an official investigation.

Police in Arcadia are looking for the driver of a Mercedes-Benz, who they say, struck and critically injured 72-year-old Roop Garg. According to a news report in The San Gabriel Valley Tribune, the incident took place the morning of August 11, 2016 in the 600 block of West Camino Real Avenue, just east of Baldwin Avenue. Police say Mercedes was going west on Camino Real Avenue when it struck the pedestrian walking west on the street. The pedestrian, Garg, suffered critical injuries.

The driver briefly stopped his car near the intersection, got out of the vehicle and walked around his vehicle. But he got back in and fled south on Baldwin Avenue. Witnesses described the hit-and-run vehicle as a white, newer-model Mercedes-Benz with paper license plates. The driver was described as an Asian man about 70 years old with gray hair, clean-shaven, wearing a short-sleeved shirt and slacks. Austin Caldera, 16, died in a pedestrian accident in Stanton after the car veered off the roadway and hit the teen who was walking on a sidewalk. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the fatal pedestrian accident occurred near Beach Boulevard and Katella Avenue the morning of July 27, 2016. Police said the driver of the car was going north on Beach Boulevard, south of Katella Avenue, when the vehicle left the roadway for an unknown reason and struck Caldera who was walking on the sidewalk.

He was transported to an area hospital where he died from his injuries. Investigators say there are no indications that drugs or alcohol played a part in this crash. The driver remained at the scene. No arrests or citations have been made pending an official investigation.

One person was killed and 11 others were injured when a car plowed into a house in the Harbor Gateway area of Los Angeles. According to a City News Service report, the fatal crash occurred the night of July 27, 2016 at 14837 South Orchard Avenue. At least one of the victims was trapped inside the home for some time. One person was killed. Ten other women and a man ranging in age from their 40s to 80s were taken to area hospitals. There is no information regarding the seriousness of their injuries. We also don’t know how many people were in the house at the time the car plowed into it. Officials are still investigating the cause of the accident.

A 10-month-old was killed in a pedestrian accident when the child and the mother were struck in a South Los Angeles crosswalk. According to a CBS Los Angeles news report, the fatal pedestrian accident occurred the morning of July 21, 2016. Los Angeles police said 36-year-old Juana Oxlaj was attempting to cross Broadway westbound at the north crosswalk at 59th Place with her child when the accident occurred.

The pickup truck driver was making a left onto Broadway when it collided with the pedestrians. The victims were transported to an area hospital where the infant was later pronounced dead. The mother suffered head trauma, but is expected to survive, and was listed in stable condition. Police said the driver, 38-year-old Esteban Carbajal, stopped and remained at the scene. Navpreet Singh, 19, was killed in an Orange County motorcycle accident after he was struck by a vehicle that veered off its lane. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the fatal crash occurred on Santiago Canyon Road near Silverado Canyon Road on July 18, 2016. California Highway Patrol officials said Singh was traveling south on Santiago Canyon Road approaching School Road when a Honda Accord driven by 25-year-old Jose Briseneo going north on Santiago Road veered right into Singh’s path.

Singh was ejected from his motorcycle, which was traveling at about 50 mph and landed in a dirt patch on the highway’s shoulder. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Briseneo’s vehicle continued driving until it struck another vehicle, a southbound Nissan. No citations or arrests were reported.
