Seven people were injured, including five children, when two cars collided in a high-impact smash in South Los Angeles. According to a KTLA news report, the car crash took place in the Florence neighborhood of LA on the afternoon of June 30, near the intersection of Avalon Boulevard and 77th Street. Footage from the scene shows a compact Mazda hatchback with its front end smashed perpendicularly into the rear of a Chevrolet Trailblazer. Some of the victims were left in critical condition.
Ongoing Investigation
Los Angeles Fire Department crews rescued people trapped inside, which they said was challenging because the SUV had overturned and crushed against a box truck parked along Avalon Boulevard. The Chevy’s occupants included an adult driver and five children of all ages, one an infant. Two of the children were listed in critical condition. The fire chief also said that the children had their seatbelts on. The infant was in a car seat. Police are looking into what caused the incident. No arrests or citations were reported.
Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone who was injured or affected by this horrific crash. We wish them the very best for a speedy and complete recovery.
Causes and Compensation Issues
