Leaving the Scene of a Crash
Based on this news report, it appears that the driver of the vehicle struck the two pedestrians and fled without even stopping to look. Appalling!
Under California Vehicle Code Section 20001(a), all motorists are required to stop immediately and remain at the scene of the crash, regardless of who may be at fault.
In addition, motorists are required to exchange pertinent information with the other parties involved and most importantly, render aid to the injured. In this particular case, the motorist apparently did none of the above.
