A small plane crashed in a residential neighborhood in Yorba Linda killing the pilot and four people in the home. According to news reports, the Cessna 414A went down the afternoon of Feb. 3. The twin-engine plane was seen disintegrating in the air and crashing into a two-story home in the 19000 block of Crestknoll Drive that went up in flames.
A firefighter suffered an ankle injury, officials said. In addition to the four residents in the home, two others suffered mild to moderate burn injuries. The aircraft had taken off from the Fullerton Municipal Airport. It is not clear what might have caused the plane to crash or if there were any passengers on board at the time. Neighbors said it felt as if a bomb went off and as if there was an earthquake. The investigation is ongoing.
